Local making Treats

Saturday and Monday of this week local 1219 were out in force campaigning heavily to try and get our local IMT contract passed. Giving useful information such as possible plant closing to floods of transfers coming in to take production jobs! They were told if the IMT contract didn't pass that the IMT trades would be pulled from the maching dept. and laid off and then transfers would be brought in to take their place. Even though some of our retired trades have been contacted by an outside vendor to come and work at our plant for them. Where in the hell is our job security? What the hell is our local union trying to do? They are trying to tie up our skilled trades in production jobs and allow outside contractors to come in and do our work. It is pretty aparent at our plant that we don't want this here but our local keeps pushing it!! "Who are they working for" is the main question going around our plant because it doesn't seem they represent us any more. Hopefully we can vote this down and get back to what we are good at and build engines!!!

What work is Ford bringing in contractors to do that skilled trades are losing work on in your plant??? Skilled Trades are already doing the tear out of the old V-6 when that is done what are they going to do with all those people??

I hope they dont get their two transfer offers real quick after entering protected status.

Production people I hope they realize that we cant wait in cleveland for you to turn down your local agreement. Fill us up we will take all the D35 work. Hopefully you can transfer here instead of a Body and Assembly where plant they do alot of physical work each day. Ask some of the old timers that worked in them during the 80s.

Oh ya Im starting to feel the Love.

Thats ok we were told that you guys were closed because you didn't do the IMT program. As far as what work they will be doing we don't know . We just found out that some of our retired trades have been contacted by our local outside vendor. Oh by the way transferring there was another option we were given. Maybe all those new dock doors they are cutting in walls in the old v-6 side might give you a clue of what they will do with all the trades. They are not big enough to haul out machinery just big enough for incoming stock!! Now we know who you are ... a union rep!!! you said the exact same things they were telling us in assembly today!! Hope you like going back to assembly next election

You know how it goes. Our local will have a fair vote, and then it will pass.
