ford1
With all the nice stuff ford did for the new F-150 they said nothing about the 6.2 engine!! Come on ford step up!!! The 5.4 is just not going to get it anymore!!
FordFanForEver
I think i recall Igor saying the 6.2 will not be launched when the new F-150 goes into production, or i think thats what he said about the 6 cylinder or the 4.4 diesel. theoldwizard
Hey maybe you should check in here more often ! this is "old news" ! It has been heavily discussed that the '09 F150 would launch with only the "Improved" 4.6L and 5.4L. The 4.2L V6 has been dropped. The Boss and the new 4.4L diesel will not show up for at least a year ('10MY), maybe a bit more. There will probably be a version of the EcoBoost Duratech 3.5/3.7L V6 in about the same time. Pioneer
There are two new 6.2's powering Mark Fields new commuter plane. They may release it in a few more years to the public that desperately wants it. Maybe.
rmc523
I can't remember which engine it will be, but there will be a new engine of some sort debuting 6 months after the truck's launch, with additional engines following frequently after that. arouil1
They need to get it going. I just can't believe they don't have any numbers on the improved engines for the Detroit auto show. we all know what Yota and Cheby are putting out and Dodge has uped it to 380. Then there is Ford with no numbers. Bad move in my opinion. They really need the Boss and Ecoboost. Atleast the truck looks spectacular. One good thing is that Dodge still can keep up. The new truck only has 1800# payload, that is a joke to the 3080# payload of the 2008 F150. Edited January 13, 2008 by arouil1

I think it was the 6.2L. I think the diesel and the ecoboost engines are supposed to come out a year after initial launch.

I think you may be right. Then the diesel and EcoBoost 6.2s will follow a year or so later, as you said. The Navigator will be recieving the 6.2 first, and I believe it's coming for 09 models (maybe '10 models?).

I think the 4.4 TD and the Ecoboost 3.5L will be released a yr after the F150's initial launch and I think the Ecoboost 6.2L will be released 6mos-12mos after that. At some point the new v6 will be released too. Maybe 6 mos after initial launch with the 6.2 or maybe 12 months with the diesel and the TTDI v6.
