1999 Engine knock

Faint knock at startup, louder as it warmed up, sounded like a rod knock. Thought it might be related to severe oil loss (thanks to "Oilcan Henry, dipshit tech not getting the oil filter tight!) 5 quarts down when I found it and refilled and tightened the filter, it was barely hand tight... Still had good pressure.

Anyway, took it to the local Ford dealer who listened to it for a while and pronounced it as "piston slap when reved on startup and top end knock. Motor needs to be replaced. for only $7500 out the door". Brought it back home and pulled the RH rocker cover. Timing chain was loose so I ordered the parts to replace both tensioners and chains and consumable parts.

I have read that a set of cam locks is needed when changing the chains. Anyone know if the M-6256-T6487 kit is correct for the Cobra engine? Anything to watch out for ???

thanks,
