Eel
My father had one brand new... But when I look trough the web, I can only find Mercury S-55 ! Did I dreamed or is those S-33 existed for real ? Any picture, or something ? Your not dreaming, but you may be off a couple years. I think the Meteors of 1962-63 had a sports model (bucket seats) that were called s-33's. Try googling "meteor s-33".

therealmrmustang
Yeah, I found those, but it wasn't like those... More like this: http://www.chooseyouritem.com/classics/fil...000/533150.html Any number, information, detail about it ? That's a Canadian Mercury. The Meteor in Canada was a rebadged Ford, as the Monarch was a rebadged Mercury. In 1964 the Meteor became a cross between a Ford and a Mercury using Mercury sheet metal and Ford interior parts such as the instrument panel, etc. Ford of Canada Heritage Edited February 12, 2008 by therealmrmustang
Mark B. Morrow
The Meteor name was used on both sides of the US/Canadian border. In the US it was Mercury's version of the mid-size Fairlane for '62-'63. The S-33 was the bucket seat version. Comet had the S-22 and the Marauder version of the Galaxie XL was the S-55 for '62-'63 & '66. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Meteor
stanchfi
Monterey S-55 was the full sized Mercury available 1962 and 1963 and was the highest trim level, Monterey was the lowest and Monterey Custom was the middle. atomaro
Speaking of forgotten Ford Big Blocks and S-55s.........how about the 410? Yep. There really wasn't much purpose in this engine. The 410 was a family hauler. It never had any performance appeal to it. A 428 crank in a 390 gives you the 410.
