ford4v429
http://www.jalopnik.com/cars/news-racing/v...rash-163019.php man...things sure happen fast at those speeds. gotta be hard for his family and teammates especially with the news replaying video...doubt he even knew what he hit as it was all over in the blink of an eye. Sure made Earnharts crash look like a fenderbender. Cant help but wonder if equipment failed somehow- read other cars had slowed for the yellow, but he blew right on by them? Racing can be horrible when things go wrong...remember last fall when Shelly Howard had a blowover in her topfuel rail- knocked her out with throttle pegged, car slid backwards thru the traps with tires smoking, went back up the track and killed her and her handicapped son who was in their truck... think they said impact was near 350mph... while not fatal, there was a lot of priceless cars damaged last year at a vintage race when a false start resulted in a bunch of stopped traffing over the crest of a hill that literally totalled millions of dollars worth of rare cars...gt40,427cobra,yenko camaros, vintage boss302, etc...luckily the only human toll was minor injuries from the irate drivers beating the hell out of each other after crawling out of their now scrapmetal rides. Read a untrained flagman was the cause, took a lot of irreplaceable cars away all at one time...sad as a museum burning down.
