Hook686
I have read (cars.com) that the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid has a 2 speed CVT w/OD transmission. I read on one of the forums, posted by a customer who received his 2009 FEHL, that the transmission was 4 speed CVT. The press for the 2009 Ford Escape Hybrid indicates a 6 speed CVT transmission. http://www.cars.com/go/crp/research.jsp?se...tSelection=true cars.com Is the 6 speed CVT transmission only for gas Escape models ? Does the 2009 Escape hybrid have a 2 speed w/OD, or a 4 speed transmission ? Is it the same transmission as was in the 2008 Escape Hybrid ? It is continuously variable. This transmission is only in the Escape Hybrid and is the only transmission offered. The engine in the hybrid is new and the overall system has undergone some changes. The 6 speed transmissions are used in the gas only Escapes. The I4 gas is new, and the V6 is revised. All 3 models, I4, V6, and HEV (hybrid) have improved fuel economy over last ear.
