NLPRacing
I don't disagree, but Ford tried that a few years back (in Oklahoma ??) and it did not work. I don't know why, but they sold the dealerships that they had bought back. I don't know about Oklahoma, but in Texas a few years back, Ford bought up a bunch of their dealers in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Then, Ford tried getting the laws changed to where they could own & operate their own dealerships. When that failed, they sold off all these dealers, mostly to AutoNation. Most all the Ford dealers in the Dallas/Fort Worth are are owned by 2 or 3 companies (AutoNation, Sonic Automotive Group and another one that I can't think of). I don't know what's worse, auto manufacturers owning their own dealerships or just a few big companies like AutoNation, Sonic Automotive (which is the company owned by Bruton Smith) or Penske controlling 95% of the dealer market.
