chiefstang
As part of Ford's restructuring plan it's presenting to congress, they will sell off all corporate jets, and more importantly, offer an electric vehicle in 2010. 2010 will see an electric van, followed by an electric sedan in 2011. With all the hype the Volt got, Ford needs to let people know about this. Great PR for all the greenies! :happy feet: LINK

Ford Jellymoulds
G-Wiz Electric car sales are down 58% this year. Jonathan Ross, Kristin Scott-Thomas and Jade Jagger all proudly own one. Even the Lloyds TSB chairman Victor Blank was snapped stepping out of one on his way to a meeting to discuss the takeover of HBOS. They may look like Noddy cars, but for the green-conscious urban motorist, the G-Wiz was the guilt-free answer to getting around town. But all that star power hasn't insulated them from a drastic slump in sales: according to figures collated by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, a total of just 156 electric cars were sold in the UK from January to October 2008, compared with 374 for the same period last year. The vast majority of the sales (and the 58% slump) are G-Wiz cars, made by Indian car company Reva. http://www.guardian.co.uk/environment/2008...car-sales-slump

Toyota doesn't make a 'black car', so it's either a fuel sipping stretch Town Car, or a fuel sipping Chevy Tahoe.
chiefstang
Hmm.. Thought you guys would be a little more interested in this. Gm does an electric car, it's the cat's meow, and Ford is a bunch of idiots for not doing it. Now, not only are they going to produce it, but it looks like they will maybe beat GM to the punch (If GM makes it another month), and everyone's yawning... Looks like you guys (and gal) have a "short" memory...

I thought the Volt was a joke from day one..a PR stunt that went from around the corner to 2010-2012, from sub 30k to 40 plus....NEXT!......whta was funny was Ford bashers touting the so-called superiority of a PIPE dream.....funny how everyone thinks ford doesn't investigate alternate technologys...oh wait they just don't BLEAT vaporware to the hungry press, thats all.......
