New Taurus SHO Spotted without Camo

Don't like the cleared-out section on the tail lights.

As for it looking more agressive? Meeh. It's not like the original SHO's were uber-different in appearance from their more plebian stablemates.

Yeah, that's true, and the new Taurus is pretty aggressive in any trim level, but I'm still hoping the SHO has some bark to go with it's bite.

Either way, that car looks sharp in black!

Yeah I do think it looks nice, except for the tail lights, as mentioned. I really don't like it often when designers reinforce panel gaps by making the lights change shape or color along the seam. I thought the idea was to minimize the appearance of panel gaps? The original lights on the base model do that nicely by continuing their shape and color into the decklid.

Wheels look great, and I like the spoiler, but if this is the SHO, I was hoping for a more aggressive styling package.

IMO

I wouldn't mind more aggression, but not too much. The great thing about the SHO was that you could drive past the cop, the corvette owner and your insurance carrier and nobody was the wiser. To me that was a large part of the appeal. I also loved having people get in the car for the first time and make a comment like...What kind of car is this??...and...I didn't know they made the Taurus with a manual, that's cool...

While I'm very excited about the increasing evidence that a SHO will become available, I seriously doubt a Manual transmission will be offered, and I really enjoy the SVTF's 6 speed I currently drive.

Sadly, no manual, but they will come with a six speed/paddle shift setup. It's a dual clutch setup that really looks to deliver on the sporty end of things. No slushbox, just lightning fast perfect shifts. It supposedly will blip the throttle on downshifts, and let the engine bounce off the rev limiter. I'm a fan of manuals myself, but this thing has promise. Can't wait to try one!

The more I think about it, the more I agree with you guys about the styling. I like the sleeper car, and the SHO was certainly a sleeper. The more I read about this car, the more excited I get. I'm almost looking forward to this more than the new Mustang............ Almost.
