Have to say all the down time in truck is scaring the hell out of me!

Yeah, were not used to it here, KCAP has been fortunate, we have to take our medicine. It was bound to happen. I figure 10 to 12 weeks for the year. Goes to show you can't take things for granted. :beerchug:

Brother, DO NOT LET THIS RUMOR MILL GET THE BEST OF YOU! Things are funky for everybody right now. There's nothing you can do to change anything. Just go into work and do the best job you possibly can, like I'm sure you do everyday anyway, and plan for the worst and hope for the best, just like any other day.

Now I'm going to get a little religious on ya now: Therefore don’t worry about tomorrow, because tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Matt 6:34 (HCSB)

Whoever, why ever, however and whatever happens - happens. KCAP has made Dearborn notice us in a big way by letting KCAP be the lead plant with the F-150; they know what we're made of and what we can do.

kalu if your on day shift find ugene howard(half) at your plant he on day on the truck side chassis and ask him what he was told by a johnson controls rep on his his flight back to norfolk when ya'll were down. i talked to him on the phone sunday night, and what he told me was not good for ya'll.

If you been around vendor reps very long they normaly don't know squat.

With some of the unofficial announcements made today I would say KC is ok unless plans change after today. They might not be building either the Escapes or F-150's but there is product scheduled for that plant with the Modification Agreement.

Rumour is F150, 250, 350 all to be same body as F150 currently, just like back in 1995.

Ok, can you just spill it rather than sending 20 dozon people go hunting down some guy on the truck side in the chassis department that no one on here has ever met and asking him what he heard on a plane from a Johnsons Controls Rep. a week ago??? Dont you think that may be asking a little too much? Who's going to spend their break marching around looking for a guy to get bad information when YOU COULD have just typed here in the first place...

:slap:

Just either SAY yourself what the Johnson Control rep has been told or chose not to submit ridiculous "treasure hunt" posts like this one. "I have heard info with my own ears but you need to work your ass off to hear it yourself..." WHO DOES THIS? AND WHY? I find it a little bit insulting and a whole lot of game playing and immature gossiping. Maybe Im just fucking on edge with the "not good for yall..." comment --- Yeah thanks for the ulcer sunshine.

And what the hell is "Howeard(half)" supposed to mean?!?!

Youre choice of vagueness only undermines any creditbility you would have had had you just TYPED it to begin with...

If I sound a little short tempered -- well, because who isnt these days? If ya wanna tease a bunch of stressed out autoworkers, honey go work a pole.

And the vender reps sometimes dont know jackshit about a damn thing and other times their company must be told by Ford in advance whats going on with the assembly plants so they can supply accordingly.... I have heard plenty of valuable information from those little fuckers back in the day... but never on a plane.

I cant agree with you more what you're saying here about rumor mills and not being able to change a damn thing as far as the rough times ahead.

:stats:

BUT I have heard different information than what has been posted here. (And since Im not going to send anyone on a insane tresure hunt as other people want to do... I will post as much as I know RIGHT HERE! If it's incorrect, then I've already said it's what I've been told by folks at DTP.)

I take issue with your comment about Dearborn taking notice of KC. I really really want to agree with you, friend, and I dont meant to sound confrontational but How are they taking notice by removing the Escape from this plant? NOT the kind of "notice" we would want down here if that is the case... If they think so highly of KCAP then leave it here! RIGHT? Certainly KCAP has shown the flexibility any CEO could hope for.

I Also have pals at DTP being told differently about the future of the F150 staying down here. IF they were taking notice, then WHY did DTP get their thrid shift BEFORE KCAP got their second shift back? KC got their second shift back ONLY after DTP had problems with accomodating the 8ft bed on their assembly line and single cab tooling issues and fell behind. This is fact. Its just damn hard to stay optomistic with this kind of information. How long can they keep both plants building trucks if Ford is not selling units?

It feels as if Ford is giving each local opposite information and let the divide and concur begin. Its starting to piss me off. Im not 100% comfortable calling KCAP the "lead plant of the F150" when DTP has 3 shifts, we only have two AND their membership are being told that KCAP is only running because DTP are behind in numbers due... My question is WHAT HAPPENS TO KCAP WHEN the "lost" numbers have been caught up and DTP irons out their retooling and spacing issues? The way I understand the infomation the second shift at KCAP truck side could very well be temporary until DTP is running full capacity UNLESS sales pick up.

I know your membership has been told a whole lot of things by your union ... but you should know that the membership at DTP are being told exact opposite information in some cases. Your pick which local has correct information. Needless to say, it's frustrating.

:sos:

I also agree with the previous post that states Ford doesnt give a rat's ass WHAT KCAP's logistics are (asl St Louis) HOW great your quality numbers are (ask Atlanta) or your how high team spirit is or how low your absentism runs or any of that other bullshit they like to tell us at the pep rallies. They blew that "THIS PLANT CANT CLOSE BECAUSE WE ARE CENTURALLY LOCATED" bullshit out of their face the entire 18 years I worked at SLAP. I bought into it then but refuse to give it an ounce of merit for the future safety for KCAP. Its just not happening.

:stop:

If you want to believe ole Allen and Bill are sitting around at their meetings saying "Golly, the trucks just aren't selling but damn it, that KCAP is right smack in the middle of the country... Were keeping them open no matter how much cash we bleed!" that of course is your right but ask someone from St. Louis how well that worked for us and we were only a few hours across the street. They have three plants building the F Series. Its anyone's guess which one feels the ax blade if this truck doesnt pick up in sales but it's a very real possibility it could be KCAP in spite of its golden logistics.

:slap:

And then of course some clown at Johnson Controls was told some secret information that "doesn't look good for us'all" but who knows if that will ever show up on this forum or not. And who knows he even knows what he is talking about... Who even knows if I know what IM talking about either!

But how long was the original "committment" for the Escape? Not meaning to sound "domm-gloom" just not familiar with KC and it's operations...all I've gotten to do is eat at Strouds and The Wabash when I visited the hubby....on a lighter note may I just say YUM!

I love what I've seen so far & I find the people very friendly :)

You went to Wabash and didnt even stop and tell me hi ???? I am extremely disappointed...that is good BBQ too..

Where is the official language that says the Escape is leaving? Maybe I missed that one? And if I did - my Bad, yo!

Your right on about DTP and I'm not about to try and knock them in anyway because I want ALL of us working and having some sense of job security. What you say could very well be true and there is no doubt that Ford is pitting Local against Local and the International is letting them get away with it.

I was just trying to let a Brother ease his mind a bit and try to look at some positives about HIS home base. We all could spew out negative observations all day long on this site about who-what-where-when-how-why-because-etc,etc,etc!

I'm from SLAP so I know what you mean about the other comments in your post, so it's not like I'm out here living in a "La-La Land"! I have pretty good idead about what "time" it is. Ford will do what Ford will do but we're not through until we're through! (Wow, I'm a poet and didn't even know it!) I'm not going to start crying in my Cheerios just yet and neither should anybody else.

Its all good, yo!

Wouldn't ya just love -- for once -- to get some factual information from the people in the know? You wanna know something? I'd rather feel the stabbing pain of the hard cold facts all day long then enjoy just one fruity rainbow filled well intended outright lie te ease my mind only to be later kicked in the teeth with a truth. But that's just me. I personally dont care to be bullshitted about my plant. Negative observation or reality check?

As far as Cheerios -- who can afford Cheerios? We have store brand Oaty-Ohs at our house! HAHA!

Reality does suck really bad sometimes, 'fo 'sho! I've always said that I wish that they would just put it on out there, and then it can be dealt with a whole lot better than dropping a bomb at the last minute after being strung along for some time.

But man I like them Oaty-Ohs! Taste just like Cheerios.

There has been gossip that once the Escape (which is to be rebadged the Kuga) is transferred to Louisville, KCAP will be receiveing something called the TRANSIT which is to replace the Econoline Van while The OAP will be building the TRANSIT CONNECT.

Few thoughts on this whole thing.

First one: DIDNT FORD LEARN THEIR LESSON WHEN THEY REBADGED THE TAURUS TO BA RENAMED THE 500? They lost their ass on that move... SO WHY NOT DO IT AGAIN!?!?! Same with the ZEPHYR. Am I missing any others? That kind of move COST A LOTOF $$$$ and they want us to give up our bonuses and COLA to help FUND THIS KIND OF BULLSHIT?

Second: Its been back and forth a dozen times already that OAP will build both the Transit and the Transit Connect --- no wait, they will only build the Connect ---- no they will build both --- No on second thought, KACP will build one of them. ITS FUCKING MADDENING! Its just insane. So what I want to know is will that make KCAP the B Plant to this rebadged Econoline and once again, if numbers are not high which plant will survive (And I dont want to hear one damn word about how centurally located KC is -- that shit is just severely insane wishingful and sophmoric fantasy

.)

:hysterical:

Third: KUGA!?!? REALLY? Thats the freaking BEST they can come up with renaming the Escape. KUGA? I find it ridiculous and embarrassing. Why not just bring back the Couger? WHY DO THIS? WHAT does this company really stand to gain with KUGA? Just rename it STOOPID! it will sell just as many units with just asmany laughs.
