Will most likely be an arguement if you plan to be awol the day prior to or after your pd day off. The contract states you must work your next scheduled day of work. Technically if you are on a vacation/PPA day you are not scheduled to work that day, you would be scheduled the next day. The company has been being assholes, so ask your local committee how they have been doing it at your location in the past.

Don't AWOL the day before or after a holiday unless you no how to or you may not get paid for said holiday

It depends on how your shift works a and b shift awol thursday or friday work tuesday get paid... c shift awol sunday work thursday do not get paid depends on your pay period

Or let the person use their contractual vacations/excused absence time to extend a holiday weekend, did not see anywhere where NAP wife stated there would be an AWOL used.
