a1autoins
So I ordered a new stang from a this dealer because they were willing to give it to me at the best price (invoice), so my car finally comes in and I go to pick it up. I go after work on Fri and start working the numbers with a xplan pin in hands. The guys there that night pulled all kinds of figures that looked great and told me the finance director was not there to complete the deal and to take the car and come back tomorrow to finish. So I go back and the finance director is telling me to qualify for the 5.9 rate I have to get the ford premium care at 1500 which only adds 10k miles to the 3/36 factory to bumb my tier, now I know this most likely bullshit, but this guy lying right to my face? How can i get him to remove it? I don't want them to tell me to f-off and them sell it to someone else, anyone with a strategy suggestions? I was thinking just buy it with the premium care and then cancel it right away for a refund but I don't want to keep paying for it in my monthlys. Just tell them you are not interested in the service plan, and they can give you the 5.9 without it or forget the deal. DO NOT DO WHAT THEY ARE SAYING!! Also, don't let them add a bunch of fees on either...sounds like a dealer worth staying away from, and I would not hesitate to walk out if they try to screw you around (like they are already doing). a1autoins
So if I walk am I entilted to the $500 I put down when I ordered the car? And how I do I get it back?
fordmantpw
so basically, its bullshit that a service package would have anything to do with my tiering? Correct. It is based solely on credit score/credit rating. So if I walk am I entilted to the $500 I put down when I ordered the car? And how I do I get it back? Just tell them you want it back. It is a refundable deposit (unless it is written somewhere that it is non-refundable) that you are entitled to receive back if you do not take delivery of the car. At least that is the standard when ordering a car...my dealer doesn't ask for anything down since it is always refundable anyway. Once you threaten to walk, I don't think it will be an issue...they'll give you the 5.9. If not, you can also go elsewhere...credit unions are great and you can probably do even better than 5.9 there.
a1autoins
do you think I can go to another dealer, and have them get the car from the original dealer or they probably wont give it up? Or would I have to reorder and start over? thanks for your opinion btw.

If that fails, then you could try another dealer and see how that works.
terryj
Ask to speak to the General Manager. The finance guy is trying to make a commission off the sale of an ESP. If you qualify for 5.9 with the added cost of an ESP you damn sure qualify without it. I hate dealer finance people 'cause they are always trying to strongarm you into some type of add on.
