Wisconsin union fight

Ljcdad - Good call on the Constitution increasing federal power versus the AoC.

On the Wisconsin situation, I haven't seen much brought up here on the difference between government unions versus private sector unions.

If unions in the private sector are created to get a larger share of the profits of a company for labor, what is the goal of a public sector union? There is no profit.

The goal of the public sector union is to soak the public for as much as they can.

No matter what we think,, pro or con, this is about Unionism in general. They lose their bargaining rites, we will eventually lose (ever more so than now) our bargaining rites. Don't think that the corporations aren't watching Wisconsion real close. If the government gets away with it, the corporations will be next. If the unions are broken, who is the government / corporations gonna blame for their short comings? They're backing themselves into a corner. We ALL (public/ private sector) need our Unions for seniority rites as well as health and safety issues. Wisconsin is ALL about breaking Unions, nothing more, nothing less. We could be next! God Bless ALL union workers!

Does the UAW have plans on supporting this war or are they already? Was thinking about going and joining in on the protest, if they fail there, Michigan won't be far behind.

WELL WE AT LOCAL 600 NEVER HEARD ABOUT THE RALLYS UNTIL READING IN THE PAPER THAT IT HAD HAPPENED..LETS FACE IT, WE BETTER GET ORGANIZED ON OUR SHOP FLOORS AS OUR REPS. ARE NOT CONCERNED WITH PRESERVING OUR WAY OF LIFE...THEY ARE LOOKING AT MORE WAYS TO CONVINCE THE MEMBERSHIP WE NEED TO TAKE ADDITIONAL CONCESSIONS AS THEY PAD THEIR POCKETS..THEY MAKE ME SICK.....

And yet somehow i am minus 4 on the approval rating. And all i did was speak the truth.

That's what happens here when you rub the repubs on here the wrong way with the truth. They only like the repub tag lines, (lies), that they are brain-washed with. Spin cycle.

I thought the repubs were supposed to try to create more jobs. Wasn't every bill passed by the repub controlled house have some job creating aspect to it? http://news.yahoo.com/s/yblog_thelookout/republican-cuts-would-cost-700000-jobs-report;_ylt=At.WAoUTtz4Ux35gNW3Nql1bbBAF;_ylu=X3oDMTRmcmU0bnRkBGFzc2V0A3libG9nX3RoZWxvb2tvdXQvMjAxMTAzMDEvcmVwdWJsaWNhbi1jdXRzLXdvdWxkLWNvc3QtNzAwMDAwLWpvYnMtcmVwb3J0BGNjb2RlA2dtcHJhbmRvbXIEY3BvcwM3BHBvcwM3BHNlYwN5bl90b3Bfc3RvcmllcwRzbGsDcmVwb3J0cmVwdWJsApparently they must have just been kidding again. Some joke!

Oh well, to quote a phrase from John Boenher on the likelyhood of more job losses due to his legislation,"so be it!"

Hopefully the job cuts start with the 14 democrat senators that decided to skip work and not do their jobs.

From the WSJ~

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748704150604576166011983939364.html?mod=googlenews_wsj

There is evidence that right-to-work laws—or, more broadly, the pro-business policies offered by right-to-work states—matter for economic growth. In research published in 2000, economist Thomas Holmes of the University of Minnesota compared counties close to the border between states with and without right-to-work laws (thereby holding constant an array of factors related to geography and climate). He found that the cumulative growth of employment in manufacturing (the traditional area of union strength prior to the rise of public-employee unions) in the right-to-work states was 26 percentage points greater than that in the non-right-to-work states

So where is the evidence?

This is an opinion piece by a Fox News affiliated paper.

All this shows is that Fox lies and you believe.

Perhaps you should notice that "right to work" states are all poverty ridden.

Every American knows that.

Let me help.......again....

The American Legislative Exchange Council recently published research completed by the National Institute for Labor Relations which provides five different forms of tangible information regarding the economic differences between right to work and non-right to work states. The research completed was based upon statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics, United States Census Bureau, United States Patent and Research Office and Bureau of Economic Analysis. Five economic factors were analyzed in right to work and non-right to work states in the Midwest, with the following statistical outcomes:

1. Percentage Growth in Non-Farm Private Sector Employees (1995-2005)

a. Right to Work States: 12.9%

b. Non-right to Work States: 6.0%

2. Average Poverty Rate-Adjusted for Cost of Living (2002-2004)

a. Right to Work States: 8.5%

b. Non-right to Work States: 10.1%

3. Percentage Growth in Patents Annually Granted (1995-2005)

a. Right to Work States: 33.0%

b. Non-right to Work States: 11.0%

4. Percentage Growth in Real Personal Income (1995-2005)

a. Right to Work States: 26.0%

b. Non-right to Work States: 19.0%

5. Percentage Growth in Number of People Covered by Employment Based Private Health Insurance (1995-2005):

a. Right to Work States: 8.5%

b. Non-right to Work States: 0.7%

That's funny more scab "institutes" to back up the other scab opinions.

Autoworkers know (as do most Americans) that union wages and benefits are better.

If you want to scab go and do it but to try and say that scabbing is good wont sell with autoworkers.

Look at the "right to work states" and you will see poverty and exploitation of workers and a scab spin organization to help convince people that it is good to be exploited by employers.

To all the scabs that post here....... you should be ashamed.

Oh ...and in case you didn't know ....Americans support bargaining rights for public employees.

MADISON, Wis. -- The Wisconsin Senate succeeded in voting Wednesday to strip nearly all collective-bargaining rights from public workers, after Republicans discovered a way to bypass the chamber's missing Democrats and approve an explosive proposal that has rocked the state and unions nationwide.

Hey shithead their doing their jobs. The hundreds of thousands of protesters can attest to that. They doing just what the voters want them to do!

I don't understand why is it that the only way you can talk to anyone is to use derrogatory names? As to doing their jobs I don't believe running away and hiding is doing their jobs. What would you have said if the majority was on the Dem side and the Reps ran away. No need to answer I already know.
