MTP'er
Go to MAP, better job opportunity than ISA. And like the earlier post you need at least 88 to hold days. Did they give a start date?
deflep1
AAI posted the same jobs today at the 5 plants, with report date listed as 4th quarter. Our plant chairman recently backed off the union's statement of the lowest 150 being forced to DTP because of RTBU's coming back to AAI from there and possible openings at other plants. I guess these 350+ openings are what he was referring to. Our local said there might be enough movement to not force anyone, but we'll see. MAP looks tempting for a lot AAI workers, especially with no certainty of future product after Mazda leaves. The posting said the more ISA RTBU's from MAP that return would lower that 93 specified openings. Example: if 30 former ISA workers return from MAP, then only 63 openings would remain, but that would add 30 openings to the 275 at MAP to replace them. It was said that MAP is getting rid of their TPT's and replacing them with seniority members, is that why these 275 spots are open? Are they still planning to hire for a third shift early next year? AAI, Detroit HVC, DEFPT, Livonia, Maumee, Milan, Monroe, National Parts, R&E Center, Rawsonville, Saline and Sheldon Road ( Zone 1 light blue only), Wixom and Ypsilanti. MAP242
Does anyone know the seniority to hold days at ISA would appreciate any info.!! ISA Has way better jobs and you get paid more. They are probably going to have 3 shifts soon and that will open alot of jobs up. MAP is a nightmare!
Milan Chick
ISA Has way better jobs and you get paid more. They are probably going to have 3 shifts soon and that will open alot of jobs up. MAP is a nightmare! I have a few questions about MAP. Hopefully someone can answer. 1. Is it a 4 day operation? What are the shift hours? 2. Can you have radios or IPODs there? 3. Do you have to schedule your vacation/personal days? Or can you call them in.

MAP is a nightmare! Yes you get paid more, but better jobs? ISA only has 2 classifications they are "haves & have nots". The haves classification you need atleast 1988 or better and if you don't well then you'r a have not. And the third shift won't start until middle of the first Qtr if it even happens. Your either slinging metal or your driving a hilo, thats all there is.
