ha paschold Posted September 28, 2011 Share Posted September 28, 2011 i remember reading navigator was to be a redesign for 2013, now finding a article ford has put a hold on the redesign and possibly going to cancel navigator all together wonder if the 2007 redesign had ill effect s on sales ? of course in addition to gas prices....... No, it has to do with Ford figuring out shared platforms and production capacity, etc. Back when large SUVs were selling well they could afford dedicated, one-off platforms. But not now. The expected volumes are low and dropping so they have to figure out how to do more platform and parts sharing. The business case is more difficult to make. Because of that I suspect the new Expedition and Navigator (if produced) will be tied more closely to the new F150 platform which is in development now.
