bpm382
I have a 2010 F-150 XLT SuperCrew 5.4L with 11,000 miles on it. Recentley I've noticed a loud clicking sound inside the cabin. The sound is coming from the Cannister Purge Solenoid. Is this loud clicking normal? I didn't seem to notice it for the first 8,000 miles, now its driving me crazy. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks Brian
theoldwizard
They are pulsed on/off especially at low engine speed. It it was simply turned on and the canister was full, the engine would start running very rich until it is emptied. The fact that it is making a lot of noise could indicate an upcoming failure. boatnfish
My 2010 has been clicking from day 1. I have not bothered to look if it is by the cannister. I have had it back a couple of times and they say it is normal. The injectors firing. They even provided me the Ford papers which indicate this is normal and don't make adjustment.
