Kbota
It just occurred to me that my brand new (but 2011) F250, 6.7 has engine oil that is 16 months old with only 520 miles on it. Build date is 4/2011. Should the oil be changed? K
fordmantpw
I would have it changed, just to be safe. Actually, I would have had the dealer change it before I took delivery.
theoldwizard
Time does not matter much IF there haved not been a large number of short trip where the oil has not gotten hot enough to evaporate off any accumulated moisture.

Which could very well be an issue with a truck sitting on the dealer's lot for 16 months. Moving it around on the lot, to the local mall for the annual car show, short test drives, etc. Maybe not enough to cause problems, but I like to err on the side of caution, especially with a $50k+ rig. Kbota
Well, after stewing about this a little, I started doing some research, and found that Ford states in their fifth edition diesel Supplement that oil should be changed per the trucks message center OR one year. Soooooo, I emailed my sales rep and provided him the web address, and stated that I was sold a new truck that needed an oil change on day one, and that FMC owed me an oil change immediately. Received a phone call today to bring it in for a free oil change. Just a little effort on my part with good results. Mallardmarshal
Effort always help to get results. It's a shame it wasn't done automatically.
SilverLS
That is a problem with a lot of the Super Duty's I have looked at. They seem to sit on the lot for a long time.
