Goongala
will the new 1200 employees get the new ford wage $14hr???or $28 The starting wage for Tier II workers is $15.78. Why on earth would any new hires at FRAP start off at traditional? WithTier II workers in the system, there would be a huge uproar if something like that actually went down, especially from the newly hired Tier II workers who had worked as temps with Ford for years, prior to the Nov 07 agreement that created Tier II. When many of those long time temps finally did get hired in they got zero seinority (maybe Ford gave them some vested time but that is it) and were basically put on the same level as new tier II hires off the street. The 80/20 cap counts the persentage in Ford plants nationwide. So it doesn't matter what percentage of tier II workers to traditional there are within a specific plant, the one for one bump ups are decided on based on the percentage nationally. wixom22
Any details of what the contract says. What is in the contract that the trades didn't like ?
BlueBlood9
They want our backfill language back. We have had this language for eight years and we are NOT giving it back, we gave enough in the national. We have only two trades and we run very lean in skill trades. They want to give some of the electrical work to production.
BlueBlood9
Maybe we need to file for decertification vote with the labor department to get rid of King and the others who gave up our so called "suspended benefits" without a fight or return date. We can't get rid them any other way. While the International gets cost of living and ongoing raises, by the end of this contract we will have gone twelve years without a raise. I dont mind sacrificing but its evident that we are the only ones in the company that have. Management has recieved two raises and there 401 match back. International continues to recieve their cost of living and raises. What about us? ANYBODY CAN NEGOTIATE GIVEBACKS, IT TAKES REAL SKILL TO GET A FAIR CONTRACT Edited September 20, 2012 by BlueBlood9

wixom22
Trades voted No but production voted yes ? Do you have a local agreement for trades or not ?
bigredogre
should not be a ratified contract both production and skilled must vote yes for it to pass. that being said it did not work that way on national for chrysler with the weak international union singing the contract and dismissing the skilled trades no vote.
