Bleed Ford Blue
I have a 2011 Explorer with 3.5 & I noticed steam coming from the grill on the driverside. The motor isn't overheating & everything is working properly I was just wondering if this is normal or not? There isn't any fluid leaks that I can see. Any and all info is appreciated
akirby
Was there some outside source of moisture (ice, rain, snow, puddle splash, car wash)? Describe the scenario.
Bleed Ford Blue
Just cold outside... The steam coming from the grill was created by the warm air coming from motor compartment. There is condensation on the grill itself from the air and it is only about the size of a softball. Hope that helps clarify

Hope that helps clarify If it was only after first starting the car then that's not a worry since it was probably just condensation burning off. If it continued to do it after the vehicle warmed up then it would indicate a leak of some kind.
Bleed Ford Blue
No it was after driving about 7 miles. There are no puddles under the car when it sits for any length of time. Air coming from the engine bay is not hot enough to burn you... Thanks for the advice
elmy311
My Escape has done this from time to time since new.....and i've noticed it on other cars as well (most notably Mercedes C-Class's) .....it's condensation burning off from behind the grill/hood.
