Jacquesrob
I've been to two different Ford dealers and asked them to put a remote start in my car, but was surprised when they told me they couldn't do it. My car is a 2012 Ford focus titanium hatchback, 5 speed standard, push button start. They told me it just wasn't possible yet and i should check idatalink.com every now and then for availability. I haven't seen anything anywhere that says its possible yet.. Does anyone know if there is a way i can get a remote start for my car? timinac
I'm not really familiar with remote start. How do you safely have remote start on a standard transmission car that should be parked with the trans in gear?
Jacquesrob
When you park the car, you have to put the car in neutral and put the handbrake on. The car must be shut off in the correct way for the remote start to be active when you want to start it remotely.

Seems odd you couldn't just have it in park.

Because he has the 5 speed manual transmission...
RandomTask
Hahaha, this made me laugh. I guess it is a foreign concept if you've never driven or owned a manual.
