    2013 ST

I will be driving my new ST in its first autocross this weekend on the OEM Goodyears. Does anyone have any input on a starting point for tire pressures? Forecast is for about 70 degrees and sunny, and the site is WW2 era concrete. Also, I've autocrossed for 20 years, but would appreciate any tips or suggestions specific to the ST anyone may have. TIA
  2. I am also a former 1999 Contour SVT owner and loved the car! I kept it for 13 years. Added BAT springs, Koni Sport shocks, and a fat rear bar, and what a sweet autocross car it was. Can't wait for my first autocross in the ST next month! May it provide as much fun as the CSVT did.
  3. I traded yesterday for a Job 2 ST2 and it does have the quad display of the MPG, distance, etc. (edit: make that an ST3)
  4. Has anyone here done a comparison at night on the actual difference in brightness or coverage between the ST2 and ST3 headlights?
  5. I'm not really familiar with remote start. How do you safely have remote start on a standard transmission car that should be parked with the trans in gear?
  6. Thanks for the link. Very interesting read.
  7. Is this update different than the one that came out late summer/early fall last year?
  8. Boy, I echo that! Or listening to the iPod (classic via USB) while a message blocks the center of the screen telling me the iPod is not connected. I installed the update a week ago. The first thing I noticed was my wallpaper photo displayed on the home screen. It actually works now. Both my cheap LG Tracfone and my old iPod Touch paired up via bluetooth without problems. The only real oddity I have noticed so far is if I have the iPod paused and give a voice command to see the navigation map, the iPod starts playing when the map opens up. Does the UI look different and are there some display things missing? Yes, but I prefer the new software. I'm not sure I like the new nav maps, but I haven't been out of town so I haven't really checked that out yet.
  9. What annoying music when you really just want to hear the car! Loved the counter-steering in the curves starting at 3:00!!!!!
  10. I believe that ZF Accelerator is to help the Z-2 cure faster so you can apply multiple coats in one day rather than waiting a day to put a 2nd coat on. Google and check their web site for details.

    winter tires?

Chibana and/or Eyebaleater How did you come out with your winter wheels and tires? Any fitment problems? Did you order TPMS sensors, or how annoying is the system warning and can it be shut off? TIA
  12. I suspect the auto's gear ratio is also a factor. I had a 1999 Contour SVT for 12 years that had essentially the same 5 speed and always felt that it needed a 6th gear for the highway. overall gear ratio manual 5th gear - 3.06 auto 6th gear - 2.70
  13. I'm looking at winter tire/wheel options. Does anyone know the weight of the 18" wheels? Also, the wheel description on Fordparts.com says "Must Replace Valve Stem & Screw With Every Tire Or Wheel Change". Anyone know why that is necessary? Due to storage space limitations, I'm considering not getting wheels when I buy winter tires and just changing tires each winter/summer. Requirements to change $50 valve stems would kill that idea!
  14. Don't know when the comparison was made or how old the press car was, but it was interesting to see that the Focus had an engine cover.
  15. My Titanium was unloaded from the truck after lunch today. I just stopped by to take a peek and pick up the owner's guide and MFT supplement since the car won't be prepped before I leave in the morning on vacation. Anyway, my car was built 5/24/11 and does not have the engine cover even though ETIS said it did.
  16. I remember reading something a couple of months ago saying that a conflict between Nav and something else was one of the big issues. So, is that holding true here? Do those of you having problems with MFT have Nav?
  17. Same here. My ETA was this weekend, so hopefully I will find out tomorrow or Tuesday. I leave by air on vacation Wednesday. Beautiful timing!
  18. Thanks again Pioneer for everything you do to help relieve our anxieties during our waits! Tomorrow sounds like a good day to visit the dealer and review any trade-in/financial changes that may have happened since my order in December. I prefer not to deal with any last minute surprises with a shiny new car waiting to be driven! :happy feet:
  19. Pioneer, An update on my Titanium hatchback, please. Build date was 5/24/11. TIA 1FAHP3N24CL167562
  20. Titanium hatch with winter package and nav ordered early January before the $65 retail price drop. Not equipped quite the same as yours, but it should be close to your price. Dealer A/Z Plan invoice showed $22,537, retail $24,695.
  21. Pioneer, Would you check on my Titanium hatchback, please. Build date was 5/24/11. TIA 1FAHP3N24CL167562
  22. This is compiled from checking dealer inventory VINs in Etis, parts lists from Fordparts.com, and information from other posters. It is interesting to see how the different models are packaged. It also makes me wonder if there are errors in Etis. For example, I don't see the "MD" rear springs being used with any model, but I expected them to be used on the Titanium with 18" wheels. Also, the SE Sport uses the S rear springs? There is no difference between hatch and sedan suspensions. All models use the same stabilizer bars - 23.5mm front and 19mm rear. Both suspension packages use standard brake calipers and pads. There are two different front lower control arms - one for the S model (15" wheels) and one for all other models (16", 17" and I assume 18" wheels). Front suspension knuckles are the same, but different rear (I think) suspension knuckles for 18" wheels. 23. Pioneer, I'm confused. My window sticker shows today as the build date, but I've seen someone else with a VIN about 1200 lower than mine that shows 5/26 as the build date. Is mine referring to the build week? TIA 1FAHP3N24CL167562
  24. It's going to be a LONG weekend! Congratulations!!!!
