fordmantpw
This isn't just vehicle thefts, but thefts of "stuff" from vehicles as well. This kinda skews the results towards pickups a bit since trucks quite often have "stuff" that is easy to steal in the bed. Many pickup claims result from the theft of equipment or goods left in the truck bed, and that may be the case with some of the F-250 claims. From The Detroit News: http://www.detroitnews.com/article/20130709/AUTO01/307090019#ixzz2YZVJZBcn
jcthorne
Ford claims to have provided chipped keys since the mid nineties but as the article is for F-250 pickups, its mis leading. The Superduty trucks did not get chipped keys until much later, 2005? I know my 2002 does not have it and one of the reasons the F-250 is much higher in theft rate than the 150. I am pretty careful where I park my F250. They are known theft targets in this part of Texas. Especially nice examples with the 7.3 which are hard to find.
