TCgrunt
I have 33 yrs service, and will be retiring a.s.a.p.. I am to the understanding that the buyouts are retroactive to Sept. 1st 2006. My question is: If I were to retire "today" (for an example), and there haven't been any packages made available to my plant, would I still receive the buyout? Fox Mulder
OK Class.... Lets see.... Today is Oct 2, 2006 Retroactive to Sept 2006 means anyone who retired since Sept 2006 would be eligible for a buyout package. Buyout packages are company wide. Meaning they've been offered at ALL LOCATIONS TO ALL EMPLOYEES. If you work for Ford Motor Company or are a Ford Motor Company UAW represented employee even at an ACH plant you are eligible for a buyout. Where do these poeple come from??????? I understand the company wide buy outs were announced mid September. The locations where people were to be retiring and getting packages effective Oct 1st could be offered the newer packages. Not gospel but just the way I understood the reason.

Any hourly Ford employee can get the buyout packages. All the hourly employees in the ACH plants have always been Ford employees except for the Visteon people. And, they are Ford employees now. I think maybe a total of 900 people WERE Visteon.
Fox Mulder
The Hourly Employee Bulletin that I received states " ... the Company and the UAW Leadership Teams have agreed to make separation programs available to all U.S. hourly employees." Are you a Ford employee?

Read it again carefully, that retroactive options are not for TCAP. Go here....[http://www.uaw.org/news/091406volunarybuyouts.pdf.]......, arrow down and read at line "Eligibility Date", then keep on reading when it get to the part that said " UAW Ford workers who are otherwise eligible for one of the program below..etc...? you will see it's indicated for ACH facilities hourly employees are the ones that are eligible for the " 8 programs above".......Sucks huh??? Frigeman
The NESC isn't answering any questions about the buy-outs yet. Talk to the benefits rep. in your plant.
