  1. More like, Bankruptcy = No more UAW. That's what they really want.
  2. Not yet. Last year it came on 12/21
  3. Not really, Ford closed several Plants in the early 80's and went to one shift in others. I know Los Angeles, San Jose and Mahwah all closed. Things got better for Ford in 86 and a lot of Plants needed people. Ford wanted to hire new people but the UAW wanted their laid-off people to have a chance to transfer first. They negotiated and 10/29/84 became the leveling date for people who transferred to a new Plant. Moving allowances and RTBU were some other things negotiated in that contract.
  4. I was told by a dealer that Ford and Microsoft have an exclusive agreement for 18 months, so you probably won't see any aftermarket units until then, if at all.
  5. I did retire in 8/06 with 30.7 years of credited service. I was told that I received most of my time back because my break in service was not twice as long as my credited time before the break in service. I worked with several people with similar circumstances that also recieved their time back. This may have had something to do with the Preferential Placement agreement of 10/29/84, and it could have been changed in later contracts, but I really don't know.
  6. 3/77 Company seniority, but I had 1.4 credits from when I worked at Ford in 73 & 74. I hired in at Los Angeles Assy in 77, laid off in 79 (Plant closed in 2/80), then I got called to NAP in 3/86 and was eligable to retire in 2/06
  7. I agree, I was laid off from 8/79 Till 3/86 and I got all of my time back. I don't understand why some people got their time back and others didn't. We all worked under the same contract with the same rules. I think that I would have to corner a Union Rep and find out why some people got their time back and some didn't.

  10. Add up your credited years of service until you were laid off, then multiply by 2. If you returned to work for Ford within that amount of time, you will get your missed time credited to you. If you were out longer than that amount of time, you will not, unless it is negotiated in future contracts.
  11. People from Norfolk will land on their feet after Ford. They are good people, but it seems that you my friend landed on your head a long time ago.
  12. I called NESC today and was offered BCBS or Cigna health plans.I chose Cigna and will recieve my new plan cards in 7-10 days. They will be in effect July 1st.Same Doctors, same copays. You can go to Cigna.com to see if your Doctors are in their network.

  14. 11 The last time I voted Republican was for Nixon
  15. I don't Know why but I really like the NAP threads, they seem to represent the confusion and frustration all around Fomoco at this time.
  16. This is upsetting -- thought I should pass it along. > > Check your driver's license... Now you can see anyone's Driver's > License on the Internet, including your own! I just searched for mine and > there it was...picture and all! Thanks Homeland Security! > Privacy, where is our right to it? I definitely removed mine, I > suggest you all do the same. > > Go to the web site and check it out. Just enter your Name, City and > State to see if yours is on file. After your license comes on the Screen, > click the box marked "Please Remove". This will remove it from public > viewing, but not from law enforcement. http://www.license.shorturl.com/

  18. Exactly! This seems like another way for the companies to shift their money losing ways to blame the workers.
  19. Call the NESC AT 1-800-248-4444
  20. Involuntary Muscular Contractions A Professor was giving a lecture on "Involuntary Muscular Contractions" to his first year medical students. Realizing that this was not the most riveting subject, the Professor decided to lighten the mood slightly. He pointed to a young woman in the front row and said, "Do you know what your ass hole is doing while you're having an orgasm?" She replied, "Probably deer hunting with his buddies."
  21. You misunderstand me.I never looked for a buyout but the UAW represents Ford and GM , so why did GM get retroactive buyouts but Ford didn't.
  22. Do any other recent retirees feel cheated that they didn't get a retroactive buyout offer? Since Gm received retroactive buyouts back to Oct 2005 and Ford only made their buyouts retroactive to Sept 1st 2006, and we are all represented by the UAW,it doesn't look like the Ford department looked out for their retirees. I didn't expect to be getting a buyout but when they announced national buyouts I thought they might match GM's retroactive buyouts for retirees. Any other thoughts on this?
