Employment Verification Dilemma

Former employee requesting assistance. I am having trouble getting through to anyone in HR. This is very important and is relevant to my licensing status in Minnesota.

The HR site theworknumber.com cannot answer my question, nor provide the information I need, due to the fact that my time working at Ford is pre Internet days i.e. theworknumber.com does not have data from the late 1980s. I know this as I have already been in touch with them.

I need a letter from Ford that states that I worked at the Twin Cities Assembly Plant. The letter must state that I was a:

  • Full time employee

  • With the title of Electrician

  • Include the dates (years) that I was employed in this role

Can anyone out there provide an email address or phone number to an HR person that might help me get this information ?

Thank you!!

I had a similar issue when a family member was trying to get a job reference from a company they worked for years ago. They had to track down an old manager, but eventually, they were able to get a letter through the HR department after some persistence. I’d suggest trying to reach out directly to someone from the department you worked with, even if it’s a general email or phone line. You might also want to contact any unions or worker groups tied to the plant—they could have records or connections.

By the way, if you’re considering other career paths down the line, I came across an interesting article on What Can I Do With a Bachelor’s in Public Health. It’s really eye-opening for anyone looking to use their skills in a different field, and one of my friends switched to this path and has had a rewarding career in health policy ever since.
