Comedian and Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon is no stranger to The Blue Oval, having previously featured the Ford F-150 Lightning in one of his segments – which he later got to drive alongside Ford CEO Jim Farley – and even rapped about. Thus, it should come as no surprise that in a new segment on the Tonight Show, Fallon continued his advertising partnership with the automaker – this time, by showing how a refreshed 2024 Ford F-150 PowerBoost Hybrid with Pro Power Onboard could potentially save the day at a holiday party when the lights go out.

This isn’t just any holiday party, however, but a block party hosted by Fallon and his house band/famous hip hop group The Roots. The gang is all gathered around in a gazebo enjoying some beverages and each other’s company, with everything going to plan, at least for a minute or two. However, before the entire neighborhood can show up, Fallon notes that “this is the best party ever! Nothing could go wrong.” And then, it does.

The power suddenly goes out, turning off the lights, stopping the snow machine, and otherwise threatening to put an early end to this festive gathering. However, Santa drives up in a 2024 Ford F-150 PowerBoost minutes later, saving the day even as he’s on his way to deliver packages to children before he flies away in his shiny new pickup.

It’s a bit cheesy, of course, but Ford is keen to demonstrate just how useful its Pro Power Onboard feature really is. As Ford Authority previously reported, the automaker is also looking to boost the sales of its hybrid pickup after making its 3.5L V6 PowerBoost powertrain a no-cost option over the standard 3.5L V6 EcoBoost.
