My son bought a 90 F150 with the 6 cylinder (4.9L). It had been parked for years and we where told it was parked due to a bad fuel pump. We are in the process of replacing the fuel pumps and one of the tanks. My question is, do all F150's that have duel tanks have a selector value? We can not find the valve or any type of block on the truck anywhere in the fuel lines. I know it is supposed to be under the cab but it is not there. My thoughts are it was taken off and the lines plumbed together but it the lines don't look like they been hacked on.

I had a 1990 with the same set up, if I remember correctly, the fuel selector block is located above the main mid-ship tank. It was electronically controlled, i.e. there was a switch on the dash the you toggled to change tank use. When I bought it at an estate sale, it was also parked for several years in a field in front of a barn. It also had a couple of bad injectors which was likely the reason it was parked.

Old farmer had lots of $$$ from leasing cranberry bogs to Ocean Spray so he bought a new truck instead and when that one died, he parked it next to the 90 and bought something else. When he passed and the estate sale took place there had to be at least 15 cars and trucks inside and outside the barn including a Austin Healy Sprite under a tarp in the barn on the main floor. I should have bought that one, but I needed a truck....

Yes, it has switch on the dash that changes the tanks. I've looked for a block but I will look again and see what I can figure out. I do have new injectors ordered. I figured they needed replacing as well. Thank you for your reply.
