PrimeTime95
Of course as we get closer to the end here the rumors just keep flying. The newest as we wait for the transfers to come is that KC has cancelled any need for transfers since they will be shutting the doors on that plant in 2011. Don't personally believe this one, there's always a moron to get one going. Has anyone from KC heard anything about a "guaranteed" product for ya? Just curious. Kzinti
While there is no guaranteed anything let alone a "Safe" Plant, KCAP has a lot going for it. Ask again after our "visitor" leaves next week...

Hey kalu, thanks for the inside info, I was pretty sure that I had heard before that you guys were still safe with product. I know that like Kzinti said, "no guaranteed safe" plant, you just want a little reassurance in the world of Ford.
AH-HA
I'm hearing TCAP may close in August! Any truth to this, sounds liek they're trying to cut everything to the bone.

Any truth to this, sounds like they're trying to cut everything to the bone. :titanic: You are correct in all signs pointing towards the end of August! With the constant line of good & knowledgeable people leaving, to those remaining doing multiple jobs to people off the streets filling in, to management being done by a fraction of what is needed. If it weren't for the great work ethic of the employees..... TCAP would be a disaster! Fortunately TCAP employees are capable of running production on their own without supervision. Not to worry consumers - you're in good hands with TCAP! :lastyear: Edited February 6, 2007 by Acobra

They just put a bid up here in AAP for 150 jobs in KCAP,so I guess that blows that theory out of the water.
Fox Mulder
KCAP is in serious doubt. They have no product after 2012. The launch of the 2008 Escape is going VERY bad. To the best of my knowledge KCAP has not shipped any 2008 Escape and their are many sitting around waiting for repair. Major fit and finish issues with the launch plus a serious electrical problem resulting in unintentional startup. And while these all may be vendor problems (not who or how it's built) it's still a problem. My information comes from a Ford (product specialist?) he travels from KCAP, NAP and TCAP and personally told me all of this just last week. Said he and others in similiar positions had been required to be in KCAP for the Escape launch. They are trying to get it right. Also mentioned that the Bronco will be produced and will be built in Mexico, the Escape is dead when the Bronco rolls out.

IF KCAP is SO dire, please list all the plants that are lined up with product beyond 2012 . These start up issues are very common (see OAP on Edge). Just get it right by time the customer gets it. True , nothing is guaranteed , but tell me all the plants Ford has committed beyond the next 5-6 yrs. Give us all a break.
