  1. The only noteworthy thing is that Acura and Honda will finally offer a V8, so what its not like everyone else has been offering them for years now. Just because Lincoln doesnt have a modern car with a V8 it in doesnt make it any lesser of a car vs other makes
  2. Seems like your too hung up that Lincoln needs to be another MB or BMW....its not...the current products are about bringing about former/past Lincoln owners that defected to other brands since their wasn't anything for them to buy.
  3. I know the Sirius Antenna is fitted there...but their might be damage issues with the car going though car washes with a larger antenna? Who knows besides Ford? :P
  4. I think the biggest reason that the antenna hasn't been replaced by a wart or sharkfin antenna is that Mustang comes both in a Convertible and coupe and there might be issues with that.
  5. The MKS is the Lincoln "Flagship" by default, it wasn't designed to be one...
  6. The ass end of the car looks funky, but it also helps the car look less massive too...its almost like the back end comes to a point near the license plate
  7. That sounds like a fun car to drive, outside the 3.5L sport model
  8. Well the Mustang is "cheap" and wouldn't have enough refinement to be a Lincoln. I find it hard to believe you can make a 20K V6 Mustang off the same platform you make a 45K Lincoln sedan off of and make a profit off the Mustang. The Lincoln would need IRS and making a IRS and Solid rear axle on the same platform would kill the profits on both cars. If they could make a Ford sedan in addition, they might be able to swing it...
  9. Well the MKZ is the low-end Lincoln and the Taurus is the top-end Ford and will also share the Ecoboost with the MKS....If say the Focus came with a keyless entry, I'd be pissed I couldn't get it on the Lincoln, plus it might be an option in a year or two. Though I do have to say I'm really interested in the next Taurus and MKZ, the MKS is nice but just out of my reach for what I want to spend on a car payment.
  10. LOL Might want to get your hearing checked.... They are saying GREENEST, Not GREATEST Automaker
  11. The most interesting thing to me is the Sport Appearance Package and the suspension upgrades...maybe it will help make the car appeal to younger buyers with that..
  12. http://www.forbes.com/2008/10/17/ford-mazd...=rss_popstories
  13. I figured as much, reason I didn't post the article on it..
  14. The SVT Focus was a fun car to drive, but mine was a total piece of shit...
  15. I constantly see the Routan commericals on TV with Brook Shields pleading people not to get knocked up just to buy one. At least they got the demographic nailed down!
  16. I was reading some article talking about the health of GM and Ford and one of the comments mentioned in it was scrapping a RWD platform for Lincoln
  17. Strange, I've seen about a half dozen of them and I believe 2-3 are in the same town as me and I'm in Central Jersey...though I'll admit I've seen more Pilots it seems like
  18. How about this? Since the Mondeo and Focus are coming in the next couple years, why not bring over something like the C-Max or S-Max as a Mercury?
  19. What I find pretty interesting about the new Tarsus is that it seems like its basically going to be a cheaper version of the MKS...the Tophats are similar and now the interiors are somewhat similar also. But I do like what I've seen so far with the car...its a huge improvement over the current D3 cars. I've driven my parents Sable a couple times and it just feels like an old persons car...the new one doesn't
  20. I have to disagree with that, The decisions made in the 1990s by Ford is why they are in the situation they are in now. Can you seriously think that going nearly 10 years without developing a new car platform in NA as smart? Just look how bad off Ford was at the turn of the century when it came to cars and they had to jump through their asses to get subpar products (which thankfully got better and better as they where released) out to market. Just look at what happened after the Focus...the 500 was barely an ok car, the Fusion was a good improvement over the 500, The Mustang was more or less a homerun for Ford, The Edge was at least a triple, The renamed 500 aka Taraus addressed the issues that the 500 had the best it could, The Flex looks like a great product with really shitty timing, the new Focus seems to be doing solid, even with its funky styling and the new CD3 Triplets will hopefully get the same refinement as the Flex, and the new Taraus looks like a real contenter when it launches. Then we'll have a New Mustang that will hopefully have the same interior materals as the Flex with further performance and ride improvements and we'll have a Fiesta and new Focus in the next two years also. It seems like Ford is finally catching up to where they need to be to compete.
  21. Not good for Ford or anyone else http://www.reuters.com/article/newsOne/idUSTRE49863N20081009
  22. The tail lights are kinda funky, but also how does this car fit into the upcoming C2 platform? I guess Mazada is going to be out of step with refreshes or is this the first C2 based car?
  23. I was always under the assumption that it was torque not HP that destroyed Automatic transmissions, thus why the Ecoboost would be torque limited in 1-2 gear
  24. interesting takes for compairing CUVs...the first 3 are roughly Edge sized products with useless 3rd row seating..
