  1. I also am voting to keep the Class B shares. Let the Ford family run the company they built. Kerkorian will chop up and merge my favorite company with Nissan
  2. Seriously though does your opinion really matter. Just because you own and drive the car, doesn't mean that you know anything about it. As a 2008 Focus owner, even though I love my car and think Ford did an exceptional job with the car it doesn't mean anything because I actually own the car. The opinions that really matter are the people who have never driven our cars and are convinced of how terrible they are due to their world class "internet" knowledge. I am sorry to be a dick, but from what I have learned here the opinion of real owners are irrelevant. :P !
  3. Anyone know the gas mileage expected on the Flex?? With fuel prices what they are I just don't know how successful this car can be. No, I am not a negatard, I am just curious. The car is beautiful, if the execution is like Ford's previous launches of Taurus, Edge, 08 Focus, Fusion, then I expect it to be of high quality, the ONLY thing that worries me is what the window sticker says the FE is.
  4. Isn't this like the fourth thread this guy has created on this topic? Is he delusional?? Rhetorical of course as we all know the answer.
  5. This is good news. Ford seems to be in a situation to weather the economic storm. I bought a new Focus in March, my brother bought a fully loaded sable in April, and my parents are picking up a new Focus this weekend. So we are doing our part!
  6. The styling isn't the best, but I like the interior and the quality is far above the last generation. I appreciate the positive comments, the sarcastic childish comments are probably unnecessary. The car isn't perfect, but it is certainly competitive. I wonder if I can take the fender vents off?? Probably would leave some holes or something, oh well.
  7. Thanks for the replies, and mostly positive so that is good. The styling is not where I would like it on the outside kinda bland. However the interior is nicely laid out and the controls and noise are impressive for an econocar. I was right side up on the Mustang loan so that was good, although price wasn't the only reason for trading. Even though I did knock my payment down 30 dollars a month and take a year off the end of the loan term, xplan and rebates are nice . The mustang will be a fun 2nd car someday but not as a daily driver in my current situation. Yes it was a 4.0.
  8. I picked up a 2008 Focus yesterday, and traded in my 07 Mustang which was poor on gas and insurance. The focus handles and rides better, is quieter inside and actually has a more refined interior. Plus the Sync system is a nice addition. Overall I am impressed with the car, and it is a shame so many on here criticize it so heavily, it is actually really refined compared to the previous Focus model. My girlfriend has an 06, which handles better but is not nearly as quiet or smooth. Anyways just thought I would give my .02 on the car now that I bought one. Sorry no pics yet, need to find my digital camera.
  9. congrats on the new car. I drive an 07 manual pony package premium V6 mustang, and I love it!
  10. Oh I get it now it's funny because he is black. See I didn't really get what you were trying to say, but obviously since he is black he knows gang members and pimps. I mean he only went to Harvard after being raised by a single mother, and then gave up a lucrative job to do organizing in a community devastated by steel plant closings, but hey since he is black we should marginalize and insult him rather than talk about his real stance on issues. Let me ask everyone a question, have you ever listened to an entire Obama speech? I have and it has just as much rhetoric as it does solid policy proposals. Listen to Hillary or Senator Mccain and it is no different. Go to his website and he has detailed policy proposals for each issue he talks about. His healthcare plan is almost 30 pages long, is that not specific enough for anyone? My fault though, I seem to have forgotten again for a second he was black, so I can't support him cause obviously he loves terrorists and only likes black people, and since he was overseas for a few years he is probably a muslim or a terrorist. Do any of you actually visit the campaigns websites and read their real plans or do you just regurgitate what some talk show host or media outlet tells you, because I have been to Senators Clinton, Obama, and Mccains websites to read their actual plans, and trust me Obama has plenty of substance to back up his message.
  11. He is not a Muslim, not that it should matter. He is a christian http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...7112802757.html He has 11 years of legislative experience, he is a change. He doesn't stand for the same old politics, Republicans from Illinois like him because he made a real effort to reach across the aisle. The bottom line is the next president will have to do that to find solutions to our problems. Hillary can't do that, and it is doubtful Mccain can either. Nonetheless if you are going to talk politics try to get your facts straight.
  12. Barack Obama wants to give tax breaks to companies that invest in America (i.e. Ford/GM/Chrysler) and stop giving tax breaks to companies that ship their jobs overseas. So you are right in your above post, but it seems you and Senator Obama share similar ideals in this. Also I am not sure what his middle name has to do with him supporting terrorism; if you would like to spread hate and fear mongering then go for it, personally I would rather elect someone who has promised to work with both Reps and Dems to find real solutions to our very real problems. I would like to note that I respect your views, but please keep it civil, slamming someone based on their name is not only ridiculous and childish it is counterproductive to a real debate about how to solve our health care, manufacturing, environmental, budget, foreign policy, terrorism problems. End of political rant for me, and I hope we can get back on topic. Like when the frick is my Ford stock going to be worth something or when will they stop the hemorrhaging
  13. The bill would provide 845 billion dollars in foreign aid over the course of 13 years to help eradicate poverty, something the US has committed to working towards by 2015. It is co-sponsored by both Democrats and Republicans including Senator Chuck Hagel (R-Neb) and Senator Richard Lugar (R-Ind). Please do research before posting some drivel from one of the most biased talk show hosts on radio. Anyways I don't know why there is so much political posting in this car forum, please take that to the off topic section or open topic sections, not the Ford Motor Company section.
  14. Actually we have data from ice cores for the last couple hundred thousand years. Anyway I agree that allowing the government to place a carbon tax on us is a bad idea. I think there should be incentive for cutting back greenhouse gases though since there is empirical data that shows the elevation in CO2 and SO2 levels are directly a result of man-made industrialization. Also I am not sure why you keep saying that all the other planets are heating up because I don't think we have the appropriate technology to make such a bold statement when there is clearly such a disagreement here on Earth as to how much we are heating, where we are heating, and what affect this will have. Also I do not think it would be logical to claim that solar output and solar system position are the cause when you don't have data to prove that, especially when it is just as "logical" that the incredible amount of CO2 that we have put into the atmosphere over the last 150 years is the reason we are heating. Well I have said my piece have a nice day folks I need to do some grading!
  15. Ok so I just read their paper. They argue that since the data is off by 0.1 degrees centigrade that the models are flawed. Also their graph shows the model clearly got the trend in the atmosphere correct it is merely elevated by 0.1 degrees centigrade. After reading this I come to two basic conclusions. 1) The models are flawed, but follow trends and work should be done. 2) This does not show man is not the cause of global warming, all this paper does is talk about flaws in the models. Flaws which do not seem significant, especially considering they did not show error estimation on their graph making it difficult to see if 0.1 degrees falls within the expected error. So what does this mean for my take on global warming. Well it means that there is discussion in the scientific community over models, but it does not seem that this paper presents and data that would contradict the prevailing theory that man is responsible for the majority of warming. That is just me maybe blackhorse you should actually read the journal article instead of the fox news article.
