  1. Where will it be streamed on the Net in real time? Anyone know?
  2. You mean XFR...I've been waiting for this car. I can't say that the ownership experience of the XK has been a good one. The car is a rattle trap like I've never experienced before... Time for the XFR..
  3. Where are the pics of Ford's NAIAS releases?...It's the 5th..heck last year at this time I think we had everything by this point..
  4. Christ..where do some of you get this bad information? Ford and Mazda don't share technology anymore????... Ford is trying to improve FMC's balance sheet and at the same time making sure that Mazda has the best availability of credit for both floor plans and customers...FMC is going to concentrate on Ford, Lincoln and Mercury brands.
  5. I should have never started this string. He was at NAIAS and he actually spoke a great deal. CNBC has some great video of him talking about American vs. European design.
  6. Comparing FMCC to GMAC is like apples and oranges.... Borrowing costs from FMCC are higher because of their credit rating but if you compare the spread on YTM's on FMCC notes, meaning what FMCC must pay to get the notes sold to investors, it's way less than the huge hits that GMAC is taking because of the ResCap problem. In the longer-term I bet Ford is thrilled that they never sold it because GMAC is going to be dogged by this ResCap problem for years...yet as Ford turns around FMCC will only get stronger.
  7. Did he play any role on stage at NAIAS?
  8. You guys have to understand that Ford of Europe products are much more expensive than Ford NA products...that is one of the reasons for the differences in the interiors..
  9. Yeah I agree..the interview stunk......the web portion was just as boring...
  10. Ok, this could be a stretch but here's my take on this... Volvo's losses are almost entirely related to currency exchange problems. The recent announcements that Ford is going to keep more plants open in the US leads me to believe that Volvo's are going to produced in the US..and here's why: - Can balance the currency problem which isn't going away for the long term - Can build Volvo into what they had hoped for Jaguar which is a large, upscale brand the BMW/Merc/Audi but in terms of Volume..NOT REAR WHEEL, HIGH PERFORMANCE CARS because that takes away from what Volvo is all about... Thank god we're keeping Volvo and being that JLR must have ties to Ford for probably the next 4-6 years for engines what AM is really doing is cleaning up the balance sheet to make Ford investment grade and sucking the waste and nonsense out of the company. FORD IS A BUY!
  11. The Flex is going to be flying out of showrooms faster than they can make them. It's the first Ford product that shows something different in along time. Now where is the "reflex?"
  12. Steve Wilson's article is completely stupid. The link between flying on a corporate jet and peoples jobs is about the most moronic parallel that it makes no sense. What Steve fails to mention is that given the number of hours someone like Mark Fields works flying on a corporate jet absoultely provides him with the ability to more effectively perform at the level he needs to do his job. What you think he kicks back and read the newspaper while he's flying home? The guy runs a multibillion dollar division of FMC for christsake and your going to have him spend a few hours going through security at DET then get on a NW flight to PBI? It shows you that to make the link between working class line workers and Mark Fields is again simply stupid and if anything shows Steve Wilson's just another TV reporter out to expose something that in the end isn't exposing anything. Let's see..a 150 billion dollar revenue company and Mark Fields spends some bucks flying around....
  13. The new MKS when back to be resurfaced. It's supposed to be more American, more edgy, less Japanese looking. The powertrain is the big question....
  14. Completely wrong! The XJ and the X type we're already well underway before he was hired. God do I wish he'd come back as Chief Product Officer!
