  1. Van Dyke has around 40 on ILO and these postings didn't go up for Van Dyke? Kind of like everyone that made room for the Van Dyke people that hit the street a few years back when AX4N went out? Dont like it now that the shoe is on the other foot do ya? How many 2280 people did 400 take in with their so generous open arms? You trying to preach this "its only fair shit" now?
  2. Where was this posting for 1 at Sterling and 1 at Romeo put up at? When was it posted? I didn't see the posting anywhere at Van Dyke. Was it for Temp or Perm?
  3. You guys getting to play with all the C2C fencing inside of fencing and hang your tag on the fencing before entering shit. Good old Walbridge Aldinger. How up to date and accurate are the prints you guys are being given? How many times you have to relocate equiptment due to inaccurate and/or outdated prints that have been revised in an office somewhere but never made it to the floor? Wait till you see how much extra material is ordered that ford has to pay a surcharge on then has to pay a restocking fee to send it back. I feel your pain brother. They are truely a bunch idiots.
  4. The loan bill location wording is useless. The money will get spent exactly where the govt wants it (US), this will in turn free up other company money to be spent exactly where Ford wants it. (Mexico/China) Mr. Alan Boeing knows exactly what he is doing. (chopping US jobs)
  5. were these postings for temp or perm. positions?
  6. Projected 20-30 thousand units a year on the hybrid isn't going to generate anything. Thats like 1 shift for 30 days worth of work on the high end. Anything is better than nothing but the hybrid is extremely low volume.
  7. That has nothing to do with the union. Company can force 9 hours and 2 Saturdays in a row if they choose. How many people on the floor are even trying to refuse the OT? Dont think for a second that everyone in that committee room isn't doing everything they can to keep people from hitting the street.
  8. I wish you the best, keep the faith. As far as equal sacrifice for those that dont know, our numbers are literally less than half what they were 5 years ago. The numbers dont lie brother. Your comment on no trades being hit this time around, that still remains to be seen. Nothing has been announced yet, but I find it extremely hard to believe that it isn't coming very soon.
  9. That still remains to be seen. Nah he just loves working at Flatrock. Cutting trades just means cutting even more production. Majority have production time and will just return to production and bump even more low seniority out. didn't think that one out very well did ya? flatrockbacktovandykebacktoflatrocktempposition
  10. When and where are the funeral arrangements? RIP Dave.
  11. News flash, all that crap did not keep the plant open for even one more day. That plant is still open because Ford Motor Company still wants the product they are building.
  12. Kirk, er NAVYDAVY, just follow the contract and all is well. Think outside the box sounds alot like dangle the carrot blackmail. He will help you to win! :cheerleader: TCAP is closing, what exactly did you help with?
  13. Same happened at VanDyke. Have had people on rolling TLO's since like Oct.-Nov., couple hundred were placed and now we are staring ILO's in the face.
  14. Yep, right after they exhaust step 1 of the placement hierarchy.
  15. You already know, and anyone that tries to undercut me or get in my way........... :slug: :shades:
  16. Looking for a car in the size and price range of the Fusion, would you suggest I buy a Honda instead? Big difference in both size and price from Fusion to Taurus. In another year the North American Focus will no longer get the FN transmission built here at VanDyke but the Fusion is going to be taking the 6FM transmission built here at VanDyke. Your saying buy the Focus to support those employees at MTP/Wayne regardless of the fact that the Fusion sale will benefit the plant I am at? What is it that makes the final assembly jobs at MTP/Wayne more important than mine? I understand what you are saying as far as total vehicle content, but I cant limit my options to either Taurus or Mustang.
  17. Rusted and corroded to the point of broken frame and leafsprings? 2000 truck. No way the frame should be rotting out from under it already.
  18. I know the reason and intent behind this policy, but the extent management is looking to push it at my plant is unexcuseable. There is absolutely no reason for this nonsense.
  19. www.kimberamerica.com www.smith-wesson.com
  20. The transmission is built right here at VanDyke, Sharonville also has some work for that transmission.
  21. Not quite sure about the Conner Ave plant, but the Detroit Axle plant has been slated for closure for quite some time now. They have already built a new Axle plant in Marysville to take its place which is being sold to ZF. They were originally going to allow around 900 emp's from Detroit Axle to transfer, but now Im hearing only 2-3 hundred. Here is a link from back in November. http://www.autoblog.com/2008/11/17/chrysle...nt-in-michigan/
  22. Unfortunately I agree, but its not just Michigan. Gonna see many more cities looking like Flint. Cut everyone off at the knees and your going to see many more STATES looking like Flint. You think the housing market is bad now? Cut everyones pay in this economy, regardless if Chrysler/GM survive, and see how fast it snowballs out of control.
  23. Len I didn't mean the last sentence of the entire article. I meant the last sentence of the quote I posted from this link you provided. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...ost&id=9096 The point I am trying to make is that nothing is written in stone. Just because they filed chapter 11 doesn't necessarily mean blue collar is gonna get fucked more than they already agreed to. Agreements have already been made and contracts have already been signed. I understand that can all be changed, but lets not forget that the Pres and his task force that helped forge these deals will have a heavy say on what goes on in that courtroom. Could more cuts be coming? Sure. Could the Chapter 11 filing just be used to force the rest of the debt holders on board and preemptively deal with the dealer franchises? Sure. Lots of feel good talk for mainstreet by many folks in the government these days. Lets hope its not just all talk.
  24. Read the last sentence of your link. Is the contract that was ratified yesterday not an agreed deal? More from other articles: link: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steve-parker...s_b_193865.html Some reason to have hope that someone may be looking out for the common folk in this country. ABOUT DAMN TIME!
  25. Assembly and Powertrain Mexico.
