  1. Its not perception its buying demographics. My ducati costs about half to insure fully than a suzuki, same class of bike, different ownership groups. As far as the mustang, it may not matter to insurance companies since the demographics wont change and its still the "base v8" and not a performance model.
  2. so are they selling an awd turbo fiesta to the public or what?
  3. sad part is teh GTO/G8 were probably the best cars in GM's lineup
  4. How off are the vehicles now in dimensions, I understand you would have to re-engineer some things but if the flexibility is built in from the get go, seems plausible.
  5. regardless of what the motor makes, I doubt Ford rates at or above 400. I could see a 390 rating or something around there with the motor putting out well over 400. Just seems typical Ford these days, sand bag it a little.
  6. your not comparing apples to apples. Ford is exceeding the mpg of a turbo diesel with a gas engine.
  7. Why not just just combine the falcon/mustang/interceptor chassis and lay different sheet metal over the top. Should make the platform profitable as it should move enough units, be fast enough and handle well enough.
  8. I dont have the mechanical expertise to pull it off. I could probably do it in my 65 mustang or just a general RWD vehicle but I just dont see it working in the Audi. It would be sweet though, I would definitely take the Audi rings off the back and slap a blue oval right in the middle of the trunk. Theres also not a whole lot of room in the engine bay but it might actually fit. 400hp is easy as pie on the S4 motor, its just a cost issue with the damn thing.
  9. Just take a look at what replacing the Turbos on my S4 is going to cost me also. Id almost wish I could somehow get a EB3.5 in there.
  10. Small modern RWD coupe with a 3.5eb, 6 spd. Id settle for a 3.5eb 6spd Fusioin with Adjustable AWD though.
  11. Even if he started developing the ideas before working at Ford, if he finished them while on Fords payroll, it would seem to me that they would be Fords patents just because of the employment contract.
  12. if he didnt patent them prior to using his ideas at ford, hes pretty much sol
  13. sure, as long as they can figure out a way to not make it cost an arm and a leg to replace the belt, theres also no way its due at only 60k.
  14. so is it going on teh trucks somewhere? I mean wth is it for?
  15. It will get a following, it will happen faster if it ends up in the right car. Take a look at the 2.7l TT in my S4. Big power can be made pretty easily all things considered. They really need to shove it in the fusion!
  16. i really want to like the MKT but the overhangs are kind of rough, though I will reserve judgment until I see one in person
  17. Hes cheating, who wouldnt want to buy a car from one of the "owners" lol
