  1. Wixom is not going to close down, just wait til the 07 contract. GettleDingle will come in riding his white horse and say, look what I did........we've saved Wixom. This will be one of the major highlights in the negotiations that will help disguise and cloud the real issues.............massive concessions! Never forget that the home team in Michigan always comes first, GettleDingle's Kentucky home comes second and all the rest gets the shaft!
  2. I agree, what total bullshit! With the plant on the brink of closure, rumors rampant and morale at an all time low, now a re-balance? Just goes to show you how much Ford really cares and how sorry they are screwing us out of a job! Now its all about hitting the numbers so upper management gets good marks on their performance reviews, the bottom line it means a bonus or incentive money for Dept. managers on up to the plant manager.
  3. No you can't transfer! In Michigan as well as some other states, its a condition of employment. Folks need to be careful in who they jump off the bridge with, it might end up costing you a transfer or a job.
  4. In the same type scenario did'nt Ray Ray's mansion get foreclosed on as well...............10-4 good buddy!! NEVER COUNT YOUR CHICKENS BEFORE THEY HATCH, MY LITTLE PADAWA!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Aramark gave a 90 day notice to end their contract last month and Blimpies said that with the dowtime they could not make any money and afford to keep workers employed during the downtime......so their last day will be Sept. 8. But not to worry, LuLu's hot dogs, Chick Fillet and the roach coach will be operating within the plant to handle our food service needs.
  6. You're on the money butthead! Looks like packages will be offered very soon at DTP. This is to make room for NAP employees to transfer, we will be losing a shift my end of the year. There will also a limited number of buyouts for those who are already eligible to retire, but don't hold your breath on the other seperation or buyout packages. They won't come until the plant is ready to shutdown sometime in the 3rd or 4th quarter of next year.
  7. I just got off the phone with Ed hay, he said its not true about the 3%, its BS. He said he talked to the National Ford Dept weeks ago and confirmed it. He also said he has an actual copy of the agreement that the UAW negotiated with Ford and it states nothing about union deductions or dues, but it does layout the tax percentages that are to be taken out.
  8. I heard this same rumor on the floor today, but its crap. I called the International myself after work this afternoon and I was told definitely not. They do not take money or dues from any of the packages currently offered or ones that will be offered.
  9. I can say from my experience that our union meetings are a joke and i don't think we have even had three in the past two years, but it seems that when we do have one, its full of personal attacks from the same old folks. They all sit together and throw rocks everytime. Instead of trying to offer solutions or help, they are dead set on bashing Kimmons or Big Ed. I'm not a Calvin basher, but it really opened my eyes to see him at the big meeting we had at Indian River. I have voted for him in the past, but hearing him defend foreign cars and crap like that, it changed my opinion. Its a sad thing when a an ex bargaining committee does what he has done and continues to do. Most turn a blind eye to it, but if they ever took the time to come to union meetings or seeked the real truth of what really goes on, then they would not rely on rumors and lies to make an opinion or plan thier life on and we would have a much better place to work. So I think we can all say who cares anymore, the plants closing.............the question is who cared before?
