  1. I've bought 3 new Ford's since 2004.....more then likely I'm done for awhile. The last one was an 08 mustang GT. :shades:
  2. I agree with you dude, seniority is about the only thing we have left. How is it fair if a guy has 25 yrs in with the company and can't find a job within the company while somebody with 10 yrs or less is working, we need a national list...period. Might not ever pass or get any support but we need one reguardless. The way I see it, let's say we have 50,000 workers and only 30,000 jobs: the bottom 20,000 are laid off. I was laid off for 9 yrs, it sucks but it happens.
  3. Another good reply. If the contract gets thrown out, everybody will suffer. This won't be good, at all.
  4. Capt, we have had our disagreements in the past. But I gotta' hand it to ya' my friend, your reply was what I was thinking and what I was looking for when I posted this thread.
  5. how will this effect Ford and Chrysler? (and GM)
  6. The 4 door looks ok but the 2 door.....i don't know about that one. This car will take alot of growing to do on me, but i hope it's a winner!
  7. Will people from KCAP have the right to move to LAP and follow "their" product if the Escape does move to LAP?
  8. how many people transfered to ktp from lap?
  9. I agree....i don't see any "new hires" going to LAP after you figure in people from KTP, people who are laid off or out of zone
  10. The language in the "new and improved" agreement states that KCAP and LAP have new products coming...so I would assume these 2 plants are safe.
  11. I see what you are saying but GM and Chrysler ARE meeting with congress and we all follow each other. I would think the GM and Chrysler deal is a carbon copy of ours or pretty darn close. If congress tells them this deal isn't good enough to get the "loans" and go back and cut their wages, do you think Ford won't follow suit? Think again.
  12. Ok guys, most of you know me....well sorta'. I don't post any kind of crap or stir the pot but read what I'm thinking and see if it makes sence or if I'm going off the deepend. (which does happen!) Ok, this new agreement we are facing has alot of curveballs to it. Let's say the agreement passes. The deadline to report to congress with our "new and improved" gameplan is March 31st and goes into effect on April 1st. (correct me if I'm wrong) What happens if we pass this agreement and we meet with congress (or whoever) and they come back and say: "it's not good enough...go back and cut their hourly wages then come back and let's talk". We give up the farm, then we have to take a paycut as well? Do you see what I'm thinking or could I be getting worked up for nothing? Tell me and everybody what ya' think...thanks.
  13. Hey Pump, I'd rather have a lap dance from Miss Piggy, how about you?
  14. Rock on Mary......I've not read a better thread in my life. No doubt you people at B&A plants work your ass's off. My hat is off to ya' and all brothers and sister at all B&A plants who work their tails off.
  15. I agree with some of your post but you need to realize, even though it seems Ford is in better shape then GM & Chrysler, maybe it's not. If GM goes down, it could bring the other 2 down with it. The supply chain which suppply's GM also supply's Ford and Chrysler. If GM goes under so do most supply chains, without the supply chains, Ford can't build cars, nobody can because all car companies use the same supply chains....even Honda and Toyota. GM is so huge, if they go under the suppliers go with them. I guess what I'm saying is....if GM goes, alot more goes with them then just GM.
  16. Any new news about buyouts coming and when?
  17. hey critic, where ya' been as of late?? haven't seen you on here for a long time...hope all is well.
  18. I thought he did pretty good too. I felt like he was a tad nervous but he handled it very well. I liked how he said the UAW has been very cooperative with the company. What I didn't like was when Larry asked him what type of car he drives and Bill said he drives all types of cars, even the competitions cars. Why would he drive anything else but a Ford?
