  1. I've got all the brochures at home. I can list the colors for you later. I know Ihave the '95 brochure handy. With the yellows I meant over all years of SN95/New Edge, though. What I care about in a Mustang is RWD V8 at an affordable price. Any car can be had in a bunch of different colors. That's not what interests me. (Three of the four cars I've owned have been white.)
  2. Actually, the ones I listed by name were '94-'96. People just find the dopiest things to complain about.
  3. They had Iris and Cayman Green, several different yellows, and Mystic. Stupid Ford....
  4. They never should have downsized for 1979. Idiots. What were they thinking?
  5. There's far more to a truck than its drivetrain. People who actually use trucks as trucks care more about simplicity and durability than they do about high-tech gizmos.
  6. Why not put it on the floor with those other gauges?
  7. Speaking of epic failure, if Panthers are so goddam awesome, why the hell haven't you ever bought one?
  8. Unfortunately for you, Ford has to design and sell cars to the mainstream market—just as every other manufacturer does. Town Coupes are awesome, but they're anachronistic. This is not the time to be building a Lincoln Town Coupe. (Actually, 1978 wasn't really the time to be building a Town Coupe.)
  9. You should realize that the same people who aren't buying D3s aren't buying Panthers, either. Heck, you're one of 'em!
  10. The Ambassador was long dead before Chrysler bought AMC.
  11. I think the Crown Vic's days are numbered, but I'm beginning to think the Crown Vic will outlast Dodge.
  12. The only 2000s they actually built were Cobra Rs, so I doubt it was them. Come to think of it, I don't remember hearing of a 2002 model, either
  13. I've got a couple of the fact sheets for the 2000 Cobras. Those will confuse some researcher someday.
  14. PANIC NOW WHILE THERE'S STILL TIME!!!
  15. Yeah, and sold 1/3 the units. One of the reasons that the Mustang has had such broad appeal for more than four decades is that it has always been a cheap car. All Mustangs are fun, no matter how small your budget is. Also, pony cars are American niche cars. Nobody cares about whether or not they sell elsewhere.
  16. That doesn't mean I have to give them money for stuff I don't want. I'm the guy who would've bought a '70-1/2 Falcon with a 429 Cobra Jet. You could do that stuff then, but you can't do it now. (And yes, I realize Ford isn't the only manufacturer doing this. I'm very thankful that Ford offers the Mustang GT.)
  17. I know all that. You bought their mission statement hook, line, and sinker. I want the engine, brakes, and suspension. I don't want leather and luxury gizmos. When you force people to buy the "total package" of exclusivity, you get to jack up the price. Why should I have to build a car myself when all Ford has to do is put the GT500 engine, brakes, and suspension in a V6 body to make me happy? (Answer: Because Ford makes a lot more money that way.)
  18. Well, the Z/28 wasn't a secret, even for '67. There are still things you aren't supposed to be able to do that can be done, though. The sales brochure didn't list black as an available interior color for my Deep Forest Green Clearcoat Metallic Mustang GTS (you were stuck with tan or gray), but the dealer selected it for me and the computer accepted it, and that's how the car showed up. You're not supposed to be able to order a Crown Victoria Police Interceptor for private use, but that can be done, too. But no, you don't seem to be able to get hi-po engines in base models anymore. That's why I've never been crazy about the idea of SVT.
  19. Aw man, legendary "secret" check boxes.
  20. Bidding starts at $10K over sticker price. What's your ante?
