  1. Cool, my pictures made it to Blue Oval New's. Just wish people would let me know when there going to copy them to another site so I can follow them around.
  2. Stacey bid into Utility near the end.
  3. It was a sad day. I only worked there 13 years but enjoyed everyday. RIP STAP.
  4. Save it for a winter beater, use the cash in lew of voucher to buy a new import and I don't meen a Mexican built Ford.
  5. It and all the contents will be taken by the National office as an asset just like all the other Local's that have folded.
  6. The full result's are up on the CAW website. http://www.caw.ca/en/8019.htm I have already started looking for a new job, it's to bad though cause I liked the people I worked with at STAP we had a lot of fun. Get ready Oakville your next.
  7. Yes he was as he went for a Prime Rib dinner on our due's and we where left to live with the foul taste in our mouth's from all the shit he was feeding us.
  8. Good luck to everyone. It's going to be tough for everyone, some will have to leave the ST.Thomas area to find work but it was not our fault that Ford cant see that with a little investment we could be up to two shift's again. We put out quality vehicles that Ford feel's is no longer wanted which is surprising considering the number of vehicle's we are building for export right now. If Ford put the CV / GM and Town Car back on open market I think they would be surprised at the numbers they could sell on the domestic market. It's out of our hand's now so all we can do is to continue building the quality our customer's want until the last one leave's the building. I hope Oakville and Windsor can survive but I think you guy's had better start looking 2 year's into the future, no one is safe anymore.
  9. Why am I a traitor ? A traitor turn's on there comrades and stab's them in the back. I said out loud that the Union can't do anything for me anymore so why should I pay them for a service I will not recieve. I will send the money to a Charity that I may need help from in a couple years. If I don't need there help then at least the money went to a good cause.
  10. No matter how the vote go's STAP is done in 2011, Ford is not going to save the plant and there is nothing we or the Union can do about it now. I will not vote in favour of concessions, I am going to need every penny I can get and use the benefits to the max to take care of myself and my kid's until I walk out the door the last time. And don't preach Solidarity to me for saying I will not accept Concession's it's every plant for them selve's, at STAP we know Oakville will not support us, they did'nt last time and they wont this time. As for the Union I am going to use my rights under the Labour Law's and redirect my due's to a local charity, yes I have to pay the due's but I do not have to pay them to a Union that can not do anything for me anymore. I will use the voucher for a free vehicle but it will be the last Ford I ever have. I bet Lewenza does'nt even have the ball's to show up tomorrow and face the STAP worker's personally.
  11. Nope, Canadian built Ford and US built Chrysler. The Chrysler was built before it was taken over by Daimler.
  12. MY OTHER CAR IS NORTH AMERICAN BUILT ALSO.
  13. The 80's era Ranger where damn good. The King cab gave you ample secure starage room and the full size box was great for cargo hauling. The short box's that are common on smaller trucks now are useless. Go back to the 80's size and I would get another one for a second vehicle, my Freestar is ok for going out with the family and lite loads but I have to borrow a truck for anything big.
  14. Me to, glad the union is on the ball and keeping the members out of the plant informed. Not even any updates or vote info on the Caw.ca site or on the 1520 site.
  15. I have a 2004 Freestar that recently required $4000.00 worth of work on mechanical parts ( hydrolic control unit, anti lock modules and traction control ). I was over the 50,000 km (canada ) but was able to get Ford to cover 75% of the cost through there unadvertised good will policy. It took 3 months of phone calls to Ford customer service from myself and the local dealership. I have also found that the NHTSA website is usefull for finding out if problems with vehicles are common, usually if they are Manufacturers will honor a partiall warrenty if they are not covered by recalls or Technical Service Publications. Good luck.
  16. I am not making fun of the accident it self but have seen to many times where it was not necessary for the speeds that the police use to get to a minor inncedent. Glad to hear he survived and hope his injury's are only minor. If it was not for the quick actions of the witness's it could of had a tragic ending. Even though the construction worker in the video say's he is not a hero I am sure to the officer and his family that man is in there eye's. Also looking at the damage to the car I would have to say that it would have been a lot worse had it been a none frame cruiser or a smaller platform. Was the car equipped with a fire supression system?
  17. He must of been in a hurry to get the fresh donuts to do that kind of damage. I'm sure his lawyers will talk him into a lawsuit though.
  18. I thank the senior employees and retirees for what they achieved in the past but I have only been there 9 years, at my age I need at least another 15 before I retire. I am looking to my future, mortgage, college or university for my 2 children. Ford has empty locations in the US that I am sure they would love to restart, To many jobs are leaving Southwestern Ontario and I want to keep my job in my community and support my family obligations. I dont believe that would be screwing anyone who hires in knowing in advance that they will be making less than those already there. If they dont want the pay difference they wont apply, if they want a job they will. Times are changing and so are the way's that company's operate, the Unions and employees will have to make some changes also to keep good paying jobs here.
  19. Give STAP another product and 12 more years of production and I'll vote for it. Freeze the wages and benefits for a year or two, not a problem. The same pay is better than reduced pay or no pay. As for two tier, sure it would suck to be the one's hired in under it but it would be better than what they are currently getting. Maybe the Union could negotiate a short time frame like 2 to 3 years. Some people have said they want Family Day as a negotiated holiday, I think if they are going to negotiate another day off it should be Rememberance Day, it should have been made a National holiday 50 years ago. Better food service caterers ie: Subway, Tim Hortons.......... There are a hundred things we could go after but the main focus needs to be keeping STAP open, if it closes the spin off job losses will devistate St.Thomas, London and the rest of South Western Ontario. Just remember who will be leading the charge at negotiations for STAP, a young guy with 10 years senority, he won the vote so now is his time to earn our respect. Scott, dont get cocky or start demanding stupid things, keep us in a job. Good luck.
  20. If two tier wages and concessions ie: wage and benefit cut's will save STAP I would agree to them. Lower wages and benefits would be better than no wages and benefits.
  21. It would be nice to get another vehicle in STAP, it would secure our future and end the rumors that we are to be shut down.
  22. There should be some additional break time in there but be happy that STAP has not been shut down permanently.
  23. Saw great bumper sticker today. Wish I could find one to buy. Unemployed yet? Keep buying foreign. Maybe the Union should get some made up and hand them out at work.
  24. Wood is not enviromentally friendly so they are going to recycle milk crates.
