I can't believe the Expedition doesn't get the option for Adaptive Cruise Control! Since my wife has it on our Explorer she said she will never own another vehicle without it. We were really wanting to go up a size to the Expedition but not now. The worst part is GM now has Adaptive Cruise on their large SUV's. Any word if Expedition will get this option at a mid-year change? I hope so or Ford lost a 30 year customer...

I agree most of the time it isn't an issue, but it has happened to me at the most inopertune time. I've had this vehicle since June 10th and it has (as you say) crashed twice on me. What the hell is going to happen when the system starts filling up with addresses, previous destinations, phone book data, etc? And I haven't even plugged my 500 Gb harddrive full of music and books yet... Iv'e never had this much trouble with the Nav/Sync/Radio in my '09 Expedition.

My '11 Limited has the HID's and I have noticed the same horizontal cut off. While driving up to my house at night, there is a distinct line about 4' tall, it is bright as can be below the line and pitch dark above the line. I do seem to have plenty of light on low beams while driving. But when on high beams WOW, all the road signs looks like there backlit shining back at you. I am impressed with the HID's

I use Verizon MiFi card. It will not connect to Sync in the vehicle yet but then again there is no reason for it to as it will handle up to 5 devices at a time on its own. It is nice to plug it in to the usb port to keep it charged though. My vehicle wiil connect to my home wireless network while sitting in the driveway, so it's nice to know you can pull from an unsecured source such as motels, coffee shops, etc. if needed.

Mine did the same thing this weekend. Everything froze up for 10 - 15 minutes. This is the second time it has happened and I've owned the vehicle 2 months. I just wish it would display updtaing data with XX minutes ot go. Mentioned issue to dealer and they said they've never heard of it... If it needs to do an update once a month, I wish it would let me choose the time. When this happened the first time we were in Kansas City close to our destination when everything froze. Spent 15 minutes on the side of the road trying to figure out what was wrong. Now that was inconvienent and dangerous! Does anyone know how often we will encounter these updates?

Just took delivery of mine. Dealer installed during predelivery of vehicle. Mine has about 100 air bubbles under it, guess dealer doesn't know the correct procedure for installation. It's going back, and if they don't get it right this time, I'll just have to do it myself!

My 2009 used to cool the backs but now after about 15 -20 mins, it feels like the backs get warmer instead of cooler. I have found that the cooled seats work much better if you have some of the cooled air blowing out of the front floor vents. I think the fans under the seats pick up this cooled air making them work a little more efficiently.

I've got 18,500 of my '09. I have not had any trouble until last week. When cruising in hilly terrain the transmission now has a pause and jerk if it needs to shift down from 6th to 4th gear. If it only needs to shift from 6th to 5th you don't feel a thing. Calling the dealer tomorrow on it.

You will see better gas milage in the '07 with the 3.31 gears over the '08 with 3.73.

I also have an '07 EL on a two year lease that comes due the 1st of Nov. I'm wanting an '09 EL to replace it with. Does anyone know when the '09 order guides for Expedition will be available?? I do see that Initial order acceptance is on 05/16/08. Production scheduling begins on 06/12/08. And (Job 1) Production Start up begins 07/21/08. Dan

Thanks for the heads up on the TSB. I've told my dealer about this shifting problem several times, and if there is ever a fix for it to let me know. Needless to say, he was floored when I handed him a copy of the TSB! He wanted to know where I got it from, I just told him I know the smartest people on the internet :D It's going in Mon. We'll see if it works, currently mine has to shift back from 2nd to 1st 95% of the time.

I had the same problem, for some reason it does not understand K18. I ended up using my salesman's name and spoke with an analyst every time. As long as they think you are the dealer, you won't have any problems. Make sure it's OK with your salesman before you do this, as with mine they didn't have a good explanation why mine had been built for 2 1/2 months and still sitting in the shipping yard, so a few times they had to call the dealer back and then my salesman would call me and give me the status.

Mine was built with the 18" wheels. I worked out with my dealer to install the factory 20" wheels and tires. As far as ride quality or road noise, there is no difference between the two. It's just your preference between chrome or machined aluminum.

I have leased an '03, '05 and now an '07. I've got 5000 miles on mine and haven't had to clean the wheels yet. They have definitely improved the pads over the '03s and '05s.

I'll have to agree with the Denali's exhaust, my dad has one with the 380 hp engine. It sounds like a racecar when he takes off or passes, all factory exhaust. I wish Ford had a little better exhaust note, but not as agressive as GM's. Dan

I have to agree with you! I have an '07 EB EL 5.4L 6 Speed and 300 HP. My dad has a '07 Denali XL with 6.2L 6 Speed and 380 HP. Performance wise between these vehicles, there is no comparison. His Denali will blow my EL away and they both average 18.5 mpg. The $6000 difference in price made it a lot easier to justify the lower performance for now, but Ford is going to need to pick it up a notch to stay in the game!

Thanks Ray, I have looked at the wheels right out of the box. They do appear to be chrome plated aluminum wheels. The chrome plating is a smooth transition around the bead of the rim, I hope we don't see a flaking problem in the future between salt corrsion and high pressure washing. I'll probably wash them with a little more care knowing what I know now. Dan

Thanks for all of the feedback, I went with the Pirelli's. They were $230 cheaper for the set (2 Yr Lease). Now I've run into another situation. My dealer got my 20" wheels in but the vehicle is still a week out. His parts guy told me that the spare tire is an 18" tire for vehicles with factory installed 20" wheels. I can't imagine this is the case, but I don't know. Can anyone with factory 20's check the spare and let me know so I can make sure he orders the correct spare? The order guide says it should have a 20" spare. Is the spare a steel wheel or an aluminum wheel like the 4 on the ground? Thanks, Dan

Well after 3 long months of waiting, (Built on Aug 3rd) my EL finally got put on a train car out of MI. I had ordered the vehicle with the 18" wheels, then saw the 20's and had to have them. My dealer ordered me the Chrometec 20" wheels, but he's wanting to know what tires I would like to have put on them. Does everyone think the Pirelli's (factory tire I beleive) are the way to go or should I be putting something else on? I know nobody probably has an idea on wear characteristics yet, but are they a quiet tire? Good cornering traction? I'm wide open for suggestions. What should I do? Dan

I ordered a Redfire Eddie Bauer EL 4X4 with every option except 2nd row captians chairs and skid plates. The only dealer that has one close to what I ordered is about 350 miles away. I have tried to get them to transfer it because my dealer has guaranteed me X-Plan pricing. The dealer that has the vehicle will not. I am currently trying to work with the dealer that has the vehicle.
