  1. Maybe Ford will rehire those who took buyouts last year... there would be minimual training not to mention familiarity with plants and operations. Just a thought
  2. I need help. Have 2005 mustang with manual trans. At 30 degrees or colder, can't shift into gear properly. Very stiff. Starts up great. Have to wait 30 minutes or so for it to be warm and driveable. Any answers?
  3. Sorry, to disappoint you, Soon2b, - neither. Thirteen year veteran having been on medical only once when I broke my ankle jogging back in 2001. Only missed 5 working days. No AWOL problems. No medical problems. Leaving before everything goes to hell. As a matter of fact, start working for Toyota next week. Toyota is the way Ford used to be and hope they become again, however I won't hang around for it. I have my own "Way Forward" plan. Have fun lurking on this site. It's seems aimlessness is typical at Ford. :yup:
  4. Hey, Timberwolf, got my check today! Only took 13 days!!! Five day hold on it, no big deal..say, when did you get your VAC and Personal time check??? I need to call and talk to Rosie about that. :shades:
  5. How long of a hold I wonder....You're welcome slowlilly...
  6. Anyone know if banks or credit unions put a hold on our buyout checks???
  7. Thanks, Timberwolf. My day is 2-1-07. So, will contact LR in about 2 weeks. Good luck to you and thanks for information.
  8. :stats: Thanks, AAI. We heard rumours that they were. I am clean and clear. Want to payoff my mustang on my own terms, without paying more. Good luck to you!
  9. Timberwolf, did you get your check, yet? Do you know if they take out for Ford Motor Credit???
  10. Why keep doing this crap??? Just lay a shift off, KTP has gotten used to being off- it boils down to our greedy, petty union. No one has any regard for our families with schedules; our dwindling livelihood or psychological stability. This place sucks! Just like a $2 whore....Thanks, Rocky Comito Yea, Union
  11. Hey, RC38, Hey, man I spoke directly to our comedian, er, uh, committeman about this last night. He, Michael Robinson, said our building chairman was negotiating the COA with the company currently and that we'd be back to 3 crews, 4 10 hour days by Feb. 1st. No time and a half, or overtime, just shift premium. They will continue to freeze rolls throughout the launch. True, the days of OT are long gone. I used to work 50-60 hrs. per week myself. Order bank keeps trickling down; no explosion, just a whimper. Spoke to my buddy in Trim about this matter on shift #3...heard same thing about 3 crews. Who knows??? :stats:
  12. Sorry, pal but each Louisville home game was a SOLD OUT! I know, I'm a season tix holder. Waiting list of over 12,000 for season tix. We've become a football school! Go Cards! Case closed? This reply held water in 1970 not the 21st CENTURY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  13. They haven't called me back yet...Got 13 yrs. in...how are they doing recalls?
  14. I can appreciate your trust in local 862, but the union doesn't represent the working body. Hasn't for sometime. It implements the policies of the company. Been like that for years. The COA will be in all plants, that includes ours, KTP, or we wil not survive. Remember "Change or Die" ? This mantra is true in all aspects of the company except for Management. They remain in the 'Glass House". We already have some aspects of the COA in our plant. loss of OT in base salary, not replacing all bids when they are available(soon, no bids) The union is going to tell us anything. We will find out info through the media. If, you ask a union Rep about any current issue or proposal you get what? "I don't know anything".
  15. Money was thrown at WHAS...UofL ALEADY HAS A STATION DEVOTED SOLELY TO UNIVERSITY SPORTS IN 790 AM! Which will be getting a power "boost" next year. Sorry, Reedy Creek, Jefferson County IS changing. Has been. You're under a "blue" cloud. See, what I posted is true. It's not bad to like UK, it's just not fashionable or current.
  16. Reedy Creek, I wish you the best, but don't get too encouraged by things at KTP. We currently have 135 high seniority people on voluntary layoff. Only a fraction will take the buyout, probably. You have a better chance getting here, if you are not in skilled trades. We will more than likely inherit LAP people as they slow linespeed and later next year cut out a shift. Radio access to Indy Colts available. No TV, although we are in their viewing game region along with Cincinnati and Chicago. Get DishTV and NFL Ticket. Hoosiers always on TV during basketball season. Sorry, we are not a "KY Blue" plant or Town. The Ville rules the airwaves, local, regional and national in Louisville. There is a bitter rivalry here. Everyone here would treat you well, but you'd would get a lot of shit for running your mouth about IU or UK.
  17. Don't you mean KTP @ 2 shifts? Lap @ 1 shift?
  18. That is an old rumor...don't get me wrong- it would be great.
  19. That rumor has been circulating around KTP and LAP for months. With Ford, anything is possible!
  20. You mean $75,000 each year? $150,000 total?!
  21. Pat, I'm from KTP. Do you think "help" Ford out means Wage "buydown'?
  22. Shouldn't vested employees, who are taking the buyout, keep their pensions?
  23. Just wanting this addressed by the wizard. It is a rumour that has been circulating around our local and in Michigan. Yes, if there is any validity to this, it would be a contractual variable used in negotations. However, I have heard more than one bargaining committe member mention this in all sincerity. I would like to add that comments made on a message board probably won't influence decisions made by the Ford Motor Company. So, fellas - chill...
