  1. Keyword - IF - Like my pappy always tells me, "IF the rabbit wouldn't have stopped to take a shit, the dawg wouldn't have caught it!" In the real world folks, DTP is supposedly the 'A' plant, KCAP is the 'B' plant for the F-150. B goes out before A, like it or not, fair or not, good or bad, right or wrong.... that's just the way it is. I don't like, y'all don't like it, it ain't got nuthin' to do with bashing plant over plant, hell I'm at KCAP via SLAP, I don't want it to be that way but that's the way it is. LAP was/is the 'owner' of the Explorer/Mountaineer, they built/build a very good product (notice the brown-nose here, trying to stay on the fence here), BUT SLAP's numbers in the quality side might have been a little better than LAP's, but that didn't matter to a hill of beans when it came time for the down-sizing because we WERE the 'B' plant. Ford Motor Company does not, I repeat, does not give out brownie points. But also within MY reality, KCAP has a WHOLE LOT of GOOD POTENTIAL for a very stable future as long as - A. the management does the right things with product; B. the folk on the line AND management always keep in the focus in the forefront of their minds during the day that Toyota is our competition NOT Yugo C. I'll leave this blank for you's to fill it in yourselves as to what you think KCAP's Great Potential is BUT DO NOT BASH, TALK DOWN OTHER North American plants by doing so. We are ALL in this together! ALL! Peace out, Yo!
  2. My family and I are praying for you all!
  3. Yup! Why not?!? Kinda like keeping it in the family. :happy feet:
  4. It's all good! I myself haven't heard not one thing about anybody; when - where - or who! It's cool that you know already about KC, I lived in St. Louis area all of my life and you would think that I would/should/could KNOW something about it (being in the same state and all) but I didn't know squat about it over here so this is still a whole new world for us. That being said - I'll do anything I can to help y'all out the best I can and I know without a doubt that most everybody out here will do the same to make the transitions as smooth as possible. But I'll warn you... in the past they had some serious slackers come in here (they say) that transferred in here from various places and that put a little bit of a bad taste for tranferees, but if you show that you're not afraid to bust it a little it will be all good, 'cos they know how they'd feel if their feet where in your shoes. But please do at least give Janet a call, she's really something else! She's really cool and forth right and 'knows what time it is'. You'll have fun with her just because she just that cool. My family and I know how all of ya's feel about packing up and leaving all that you know, friends and especially family that might get left behind; so our hearts and prayers and thoughts go out to all of you and we hope for smooth sailing in this. Peace!
  5. I should have said this when I first posted this, but when my family and I got transferred to KCAP from SLAP we found her through our selling agent and folks the lady will work her butt off for you! Thanks to our family we racked up God knows how many miles on her Montego and she hung in there with us until the 'right' house was found. Just thought I'd tell you all!

    KCAP

Hey KCFPS95 you like ? Don't you? :shades:
  8. That's what I'm asking. Hello!?!
  9. Just what exactly have you seen? Bullpoop! KCAP is building top notch quality products on both sides and I can assure you that there are some eagle-eyed people making sure of that on both sides and from both sides of the union/company aisle. and if you're with the FPS program as your id entails check your computer and see it for yourself!

    KCAP

Hey TCAP and Wixomites come on Down!!! KC is a nice place! I'm like DCassity, just started here this past summer, the work is hard but the folks are cool (foremen are foremen ) and living here has been a blessing for my family and I. The folks here are used to transferees; there are folk here from New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Georgia and St. Louis. So St. Paul/Minneapolis won't be a big deal (unless you don't want to work). Hey Cassity how goes you? Hurry up and get down there with me, you'd fit right in! there are some really cool folk down there.
  11. Don't think that shit like that didn't happen @ AAP. I've read the forums here about the workforce there. Any and Every plant has their fair share of f**ked up lazy ass people. You're playing right into the Co.'s plan by trying to pit plant against plant, member against member. SLAP, EAP, NAP, TCAP, Wixom - ALL are/were top quality building, top production plants, also. All of those plants 'deserved' a new product. ALL of them! Don't be doggin' our Canadian brothers either, CAW is not afraid to stand up and and speak out when it comes for their memberships jobs. UAW let mexico have the Fusion family. so maybe your name means more than u think, because it's apparent that you don't know!
  12. Could anybody help with a link to LAP's forum website please :beerchug:
  13. Amen, Amen, Amen This goes along with your statement. If Ford wants to sell, it needs to stop acting so defeated and start kicking ass with what they do have. http://biz.yahoo.com/rb/070202/ford_f150.html?.v=3
  14. this is not a tech statement, y'all got that one covered very well, but just a thought and/or a comment: After the Firestone fiasco, why didn't they just change the name of the Explorer to something else to get the heat off of that beautiful vehicle? They could have easily because the next generation wasn't even launched yet. The '06 is a beautiful piece of metal and it got short changed because of the affiliation with the fiasco and of course, gas prices.
  15. Brother, Remember that the SON shines after every storm. We all know your heart out here in cyberspace. You've got to hang in there and we'll hang with you some how some way. PM me!
  16. I still don't know how to act being after 20 years of trim. Hurry and get down there with me. How's the house game going?
  17. Wow, SLAP had at one time about 3000 employees. 133.
  18. My understanding more were supposed to be there today. 60 in all we (SLAP) were told at our orientation meeting in July were supposed to come. Apparently there was/is a parts depot in KS that was/is getting downsized and those folk are represented by Local 249. Shows ya how much I know.
  19. That's been in the rumour mill here for a while. I hope it's true for you, KC has been a blessing for my family and I since we got here (SLAP). If I hear of anything I will post it here for you, I'm not 'in the know' by ANY means, but what i hear I'll try to help. God Bless TCAP!
  20. KCAPpers have been treating most of us SLAPpers very nicely, but although some don't like the fact that you keep your seniority when you come in.
  21. Same EXACT thing happened at SLAP! I saw and witnessed it first hand - a lady with 10 or less years of seniority came back to work our last three weeks from a FIVE year medical leave. 5 friggin' years she was collecting Ford/UAW welfare. She came back to collect her $100K. Pathetic and sickening!
  22. 20 years at KCAP, and like Twincam... who knows where from there, but KC for now. Just let me get 8-10 more in and I'll let all you young 'uns have it from there, but we'll do our best to hopefully make sure that you's can get yours, too.
  23. I just transferred to KCAP from SLAP in July and I've talked to a few of my fellow SLAPpers and they have expressed that they might take a buy-out if offered again. My heart goes out to the ones who just recieved the news, alot of us out here know exactly how you feel.
  24. St. Louis was/is definitely the center, but also VERY land-locked. But I still agree with you, right now nobody is safe. All of you younger workers out there; you just might be getting ready to find out what all of our union forefathers went through to get what YOU have. Times are different than then, apparently, but the global economy and the global competition WITHIN our borders are not going to make things any easier for us to keep reaping those benefits.
