  1. As Pioneer said I think the Eco Boost runs regular fuel. The SHO is only 15 HP over the standard version.
  2. LOL I debated posting my order but I figured the SHO (and Taurus) are significant enough in Ford's product plan that it was worth it. The car has def created a buzz. Great for anyone with a vested interest in Ford.
  3. Wow- 400 for the Flex might make that decision even more difficult. I am a pretty big fan of the Flex but the SHO is the way to go for me.
  4. I am glad the car can carry 4 of you guys at a time.
  5. I feel your pain. My wife likes the look of the Flex and she preferred it but this car satisfies both of us.
  6. Did your dealer give you any dates? I debated Black but it will be the wife's daily driver and it would drive me crazy not being able to keep it clean.
  7. The package we ordered doesn't allow for the performance package. I am not sure why but it doesn't. I am okay with it though.
  8. I ordered our SHO today. Orders can be placed but there are no dates yet. This is the perfect car for the wife and I. She likes the looks of the new Taurus and I get to have a performance car all in one car. Her lease is up this summer and I will sell the 335i and we will trim the garage from 3 to 2. 2010 SHO Ingot Silver with Black leather interior Package 402A 20" Wheels Multi-Contour Seats I am putting my faith in the fact that on paper this car looks like it will be awesome. I will be happy to have an all Ford garage again.
  9. I am officially in. I ordered our new SHO today. Ingot Silver with Black Leather Pkg 402A 20" Wheels Multi Contour Active Seats. Orders can be submitted but no dates yet. Needless to say I am pretty excited about being a future SHO owner. Here is an early "thanks" to any of you that might be putting my car together.
  10. I need some help from you guys with insider knowledge. I am getting ready to place my order for an SHO and I need to know if anyone has put their eyes on the Multi Contour Seats with Active Motion? Are they significantly different than that standard seat? Are the seats in the pictures the standard or Multi Contour Seats?
  11. I didn't say to use the 400 hp version. I was thinking somewhere in the middle.
  12. With a potential 400hp EcoBoost coming for the F150, I have been wondering the same thing.
  13. I posted this same thought in the "Mustang F-150 motor news" thread. I have been wondering if the Taurus will be available with two different Eco Boost versions. The standard 350Hp version to be available on most trim levels and possibly a hotter version for the SHO/ST. With the info posted in the other thread that the F-150 will have a 400 hp version of the EcoBoost could a 380hp version be the SHO/ST motor? Maybe the first application of a DSG gearbox? Just a thought.
  14. I think it should be written into law that every person in America must travel with a Digital Camera!!!! The cameras on cell phones leave a lot to be desired. I really wish that pic of the two sitting side by side was clearer. Looks good though.
  15. http://www.autoblog.com/2009/01/19/spy-sho...d-without-camo/ First pics of the SHO
  16. I am not speaking for everyone else. I am speaking for me. I never understood why anyone would buy an auto sports car, pony car, performance car or any other car built to be driven hard (if the manual trans is an option).
  17. I prefer "How I would buy the car" to "Apples to Apples". Only way to assess in my opinion. Why would anyone compare based on a car they would not buy. There are buyers that will buy a 328i Auto but the true enthusiast would NEVER buy the auto. If you are buying a daily driver maybe the auto makes sense but personally I still prefer the Manual. Dual Clutch Transmissions are getting closer to changing my mind but they are still 4-5 years of development away from changing my mind.
  18. FWIW the wheels on the car are only available on the 335i version with sport package. Unless someone added the wheels, the Taurus is running against a car that is a low 5 second car to 60.
  19. 328i 0-60 6.2 seconds manual trans (some recorded times of 6.0 flat) 2008 Taurus 6.5 seconds
  20. I don't know about the Caddy but I would guess it's the V6 version. The BMW has to be a 335i (maybe an xi) because those wheels are not available on the 328i (I guess they could have been added but...) Even if it is a 328i, its still a low to mid 6 second car in 328i form. The 335i coupe is one of the greatest all around cars sold today. It weighs less than the Taurus but I can easily get 30 MPG on the highway out of my 335i. The performance, with a couple minor upgrades, is incredible. I can't wait to get my hands on the new Taurus. If the Torque curve is anything like the 335i we are all going to be impressed. FWIW the 335i can be tuned to a high-mid 12 second 1/4 mile car with a few mods. Can the Taurus REALLY be a low 5 second car to 60? Can it be? Can it return 26-27 MPG on the Highway? Maybe 20-22 MPG in the city? Nice interior with a solid "build quality" look? Great looking seats that have some nice side bolstering? Great tech gear available? Large enough to haul family and gear on vacation? I have waited on Ford to build this car for a long time.
  21. Split exhaust will show the difference between EcoBoost and the 3.5, not AWD/FWD, unless you just mistyped. You may be right with the exhaust difference being EcoBoost vs the NA 3.5. It appears in the pictures that the cars with AWD have the exhaust on the left side only and the cars without the AWD badge have dual exhaust? Just an observation.
  22. As someone stated earlier in this long thread, the Ford site has a Taurus web site for the new model. I forget exactly where but it lists a "Performance Version" as "info coming in February". Also as some one stated earlier, the split exhaust vs single sided seems to be the difference between AWD and FWD.
  23. Any speculation when the SHO/ST version releases? Is Ford just keeping the info bottled up to let the standard version get the early press? I am sure hoping the SHO/ST is available at launch this summer!!!!
  24. Question for all of you: Does the new Taurus have any impact of your view of the MKS? For some reason I found myself wanting to check out the MKS again once I looked through all the Taurus info posted. I am wondering out loud if the Taurus will have a positive impact to the MKS sales.
