  1. OAKVILLE: $250,000... HAHA, TRY $400,000 TO OVER $1 COOL MILLION
  2. why not just buy the Windsor plant and the van from a bankrupt company and while they are at it a pretty cool rear wheel drive platform from them too? Brampton Assembly
  3. Excellent post Ed, your facts are right on with everything I have read as well. Pattern bargaining seems to have bit us in the ass this time. Ford has said because of pattern bargaining everything you give them you have to give to us! Also when Ford said they will not need Gov. assistance that was based on the industry selling 12 million car/trucks. Now new numbers out there say around 9 million cars/trucks will be sold, so it is my belief that Ford will have to tap the line of credit by the end of this year, or early next year. So in my OPINION we should accept what we bargain now and than draw that line in the sand and say no more!!!
  4. In Oakville some of the tooling that came into the body shop had address tags on them and had Atlanta Assembly crossed out and Oakville written on it with a sharpy... I think Atlanta was to build the Flex!!!

  9. info we already knew but just saw the news on ch morning live that oakville will cut 500 jobs that includes reducing one shift in body and paint! http://www.canada.com/windsorstar/news/bus....html?id=780299 http://news.google.ca/news?hl=en&tab=w...;ncl=1244616695 119 more news articles
  10. THE OAKVILLE ASSEMBLE PLANT (PLANT 7 ) WENT TO ONE SHIFT IN 1980 FOR 18 MONTHS THAN RETURNED TO 2 SHIFTS TO BUILD TEMPO , TOPAZ AND ESCORTS THAN JUST TEMPO , TOPAZ. AND THAT PLANT IS STILL WORKING TODAY. ITS THE TRUCK PLANT THAT WENT AWAY, THE ONE THAT NEVER SAW A WEEK OF DOWN TIME . THEY WENT ONE SHIFT IN OCT. 93 AND CLOSED THE DOORS ON JUNE 04!
  11. so back to news in our plant... package is 75, 35, for 28 years or more first, than 55 with a min of 10 years, than a step program to buy anyone out which includes buying out your benefits. is that it, haven't seen a rep in days to verify.
  12. i do feel for you guys transferring in! we will be going 3 shifts in the beginning of sept. 500 to 600 new hires off the street will be hired in June to start on the shop floor on July 21. my best guess is that Windsor will start at the same time. after the 3 shifts are up and running the company has some options to work us on mandatory Saturdays or move the midnight shift to the weekend crew. you see we have one part of the plant operating on the same system that has been in place since, well way before i was born and another operating on the new flex 04 agreement and we are all looking at the 05 extra volume agreement and now our new collective agreement that has tweaked all the above. you have questions and so do we!!! the future is oakville so come on down and we will go through it together...
  13. [quote name='Lai who the hell deleted my post??????
  14. the people transferring from Windsor have some great questions, however now one has any answers.
