  1. I get what your saying, but when you spend more in a year on a vehicle than the trade in value there is something wrong. (on a vehicle that is barely six years old)

Speaking of the contract, will the company be looking to take a spa week away?
  3. Now at 175000 km, left rear wheel bearing "exploded" while driving on the highway. The knuckle and hub assembly had to be replaced because of the damage. Of course the back brakes had to be done as well because left rotor and caliper was damaged as well. As an added bonus the left rear outer cv boot had to be replaced because the rubber melted in the joint. I also had 2 springs break on this vehicle. The list of repairs is to long to list. This is the last Ford Exploder for me. ( I am an employee)

If your wife said so, it must be 100% true
  7. Sounds like a really interesting life. Working at Ford until all your hair falls out, and you are so old that you have no time left to have an interesting life. You sure are living the dream.
  8. diatribe, nonsensical, your thesaurus must be working O.T! :happy feet:
  9. We were told last night that the freestar is "on hold". We may be going back to the old body shop at a later date to continue building freestars. For now the company wants to push out more edges/MKX.

I heard that ford is not going to call back anyone until sometime in January because by that time the recall rights of some of the layed off people will be expired. Ford can then weed out some of employees that they don't want back.
  11. Lots of people are still without power, both in Buffalo and Ft. Erie.

  14. Why do you think the quality put out of a plant makes any difference when it comes down to a closure? It's like beating a dead horse, the Ontario truck plant that was closed in 2002 was the best in quality at the time, ran on one shift for more than ten years, but ford finally closed it. When a regular joe who has no idea about which plant builds what comes to the dealer to buy a truck, they just expect a quality truck.

Do your taxes, wait for your notice of assessment from the government. Take the notice along with your T4 slip to labour relations. I think that's all you need to get your paperwork processed.

    Ford Quality

Pay day in the plant I work in is on thursday, seems people are generally in a good mood at work. Unless the paychecks are messed up :P I think quality is best on thursday's if I had to pick a day.
  19. If your wife was/is a utility, she would have been receiving a pay premium on her paycheck. If she signed off the job Ford would remove the premium. Let me guess, for the last year or so she's been doing the job she wants to do everyday, and collecting the premium that a real utility gets.

Stop your crying. If you don't like the hours, just quit. OAC could have just as easily been in the same situation as the guys from SLAP and AAP. Ford's giving this plant an actual chance for the future and all you can do is cry about the hours. In case you didn't notice, the auto industry isn't like was years ago. Ford has to get rid of the fat just to stay above water. I bet the guys from SLAP and AAP wish that all they had to worry about was a pending work schedule. Try finding a job for the same money, chances are you will have to work at least 2 full time jobs for the same money. great minds think alike
  21. fade away doctor Phil, if you make so much money and have such a great business, then why are you wasting your precious time on this forum? Save your motivational speech for your own employees :happy feet:
  22. I think they used to build the explorers at the St.Louis Assembly plant, but unfortunately ford shut the plant down a week or two ago. So I guess you will be getting your wish.

The guys that work the weekend shift (Fri-Sun) will be canvassed first for any man power shortage for the weekday shifts. If there is a need for manpower on the weekend shift, then the TPT workers will be used. That is how I interpreted what was said at the meeting this past Tuesday.
