  1. WOW ! GOOD POST ! These things seem to be spreading like a bad rash on these forums. There seems to be an over abundance of lost souls within Ford and the UAW who have nothing better to do with their time then to try to spread dissent, angst, and uncertainty among us. The rank and file have to sit by and watch as a once proud company and American industrial icon implodes from years of apathy, corporate greed, arrogance or just downright stupidity ! Very sad situation all around. I agree, best to ignore these "haters and dividers" and put our trust and faith in Almighty God. If it is His will on these companywide buyouts then IT WILL HAPPEN and no power in the universe will stop it....certainly no "troll" CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  2. :hysterical: Thanks man...I needed a good laugh !....1 question though....cat ?....Oh never mind I dont want to know ! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  3. Swami...asked and answered. Asumming the ENTIRE 21% production cut announced last week is ALL F Series that is 189,000 units on an annual basis based on last year's 900k sales. NAP's 2005 production was about 214,000 units. So you are probably correct, Ford no longer NEEDS NAP's production which begs the question. Since they cant CLOSE NAP until end of current contract in 2007 what do they do with "old girl" Run on 1 shift for an entire year and lose even more money by having to keep paying wages and benefits to 1200 people or more with even more down time ( does anybody really believe light truck sales not just F Series will mount a miraculous recovery back up to current levels ? ) Or do they make the SMART move, offer company wide buyouts, again remembering that NOT everybody is going to take the lump sum cash option, and make that up front investment in cost cutting to reap huge long term fiscal benefits and increased share prices and company valuations. One more time....it is an emotional time for us, the rank and file, but those who make the decisions it is BUSINESS, pure and simple, and in that context, FORD understands and knows what is expected and what they have to do now. They no longer have a choice on selective buyouts it is time for them to put their money where there mouth is and PR campaign and make some "REAL BOLD MOVES" Just look at the break even point and run the numbers. 30,000 people take $100k buyouts = $ 3 Billion ( but it wont be that much because not all will take the lump sum ) compared to just 5,000 people making $70k per year wages and benefits for just 10 years will cost Ford $3.5 Billion. Every person past 5,000 who will take ANY buyout is just gravy to FORD. Anyway you slice it it is a "no brainer" Who would'nt invest $3Billion up front to save/make $8-10 Billion in a few short years, I wish I had THAT kind of ROI on MY money ! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  4. If you ARE a man of the cloth as you say then you know that NO prayer is a waste of time and that with God, all things ARE POSSIBLE.....or did you forget that ? This has nothing to do with "free money" or having a "kind heart"...this will be a purely business decision. NOT everybody at NAP would take the $100k cash buyout ( Im not assuming the $140k ), many would opt for the education option, some close to retirement or more than 30 years would just take that option. Anyway you cut it Ford would be saving alot of money buy making a short term "investment" of offering buyouts. That is the WHOLE IDEA here folks, buyout a labor contract to save a much larger amount down the road on long term legacy costs. GM proved that to the world and was rewarded by Wall St for doing so. You really dont think Ford saw that and are now realizing they should do the same thing for the benefit of the shareholders and the long term fiscal health of the company ? It has nothing to do about "caring for us" or being "kind hearted"....its purely business and its the smart move in the long run and they know that. Again, instead of all the rumors, speculation, and angst, I ask that EVERYBODY at NAP to just hold on for a few more weeks until the board of directors makes its decisions on approvals. Unless you sit on that Board of Directors, I dont care if you work in the glass house....you dont know unless you are sitting in that room when they vote. I will continue to pray that God will make a way for all of us at NAP and our families to come through these difficult times and if it His will that we will indeed ALL be offered timely buyouts that will allow us all to move on with our lives. Remember, if it His will...IT WILL HAPPEN....we all need to have a little faith now ! Just hang in there guys, enjoy your Labor Day weekend with your families and be patient, we will all know the facts, not rumors, soon enough.
  5. Instead of responding to this type of inflammatory rhetoric why dont we all at NAP just calm down, and be patient just a little while longer. They are meeting today to discuss buyouts companywide, then the FOMOCO board is meeting in just 2 weeks for the approvals on the accelerated plan. Others have already posted that according to several people familiar with the plan it DOES include companywide buyouts. They know what they have to do now, it is not a mystery, everybody is expecting them to do it and FOMOCO knows that they will be punished if they dont step up and follow through. We have all been waiting for some clear news on our respective futures since Easter ! C'mon guys....just hang in there and wait just a little while longer and then we will know what we have to do. Dont make any rash decisions when we are so close now. You have a nice 3 day weekend coming up, then just 4 more days at work, then we will know. Take it 1 step at a time and ignore those on this board who enjoy puffing themselves up as some sort of insider when the truth is the only ones that really know are those in the glass house and we will hear from them in 2 weeks. So say a prayer, and just try to be patient, make your plans, gather your information, prepare, then just wait a little while longer.... Hang in there guys at NAP....we KNOW what is coming....just wait for the inenvitable...it wont be long now. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  6. Hey WIZ I sure hope you are right on that $140k....that would be about $91k after taxes based on what others reported when they got their earlier $100k buyout. I look at it this way for me, as soon as the check clears, I have a real plan to move to go after a position in a competitor where I have been in contact with them for months. If you look at what you actually live on ( after taxes ) right now its probably in the neighborhood of $50-$55k a year so that $91k would give you about a year and you would still have about $35k-$40k to work and invest if you are serious about it that could yield a pretty good income stream. When you add the fact that you would have about 6 mos of medical coverage on COBRA ( someone correct me if Im wrong on that ) this should give you enough time to find something else if you have a plan and are serious and not sit around watching TV all day. Yeah its not perfect, and you are still out the door with Ford, but in my own personal case as a single father with only 10 1/2 years in with Ford it would take me a long time to save $91k so if this is true it would be a real blessing, it would give me a real shot at a great new start and I for one am grateful they we are getting anything instead of just being kicked to the curb with nothing which is what happens all too often outside of Ford. Good luck to everyone in Ford ! I hope that these buyouts turn into real opportunities to pursue your hopes and dreams ! We will be given something that alot of people just dont get....a real 2nd chance....lets make the most of it ! May God richly bless all of us and our families as we go through these difficult times. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  7. SOUNDS GOOD TO ME... JUST CUT THE DAMN CHECK AND STOP JERKING ALL THESE GOOD HARD WORKING] PEOPLE AROUND...LET THEM MOVE ON WITH THEIR LIVES !!! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  8. FOMOCO Board of Directors meets 9/13 - 14. Everyone is expecting them to release the facts then, maybe a little earlier if the press gets hold of it. Hang in there...just a little while longer then maybe we have the good news. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  9. Everybody just needs to RELAX ! We will hear the details around the time the FOMOCO Board of Directors meets on 9 / 13 - 14. They just had a big segment on CNBC talking about this very thing. Announcements are coming within 3 weeks or sooner if the press gets hold of the details. There are some brilliant people on the board. Robert E. Rubin the former US Sec. of the Treasury, and investment banker among others. Im sure he is telling Jr. to get off his ass and "git er done". FOMOCO KNOWS they can't drag their feet anymore. Just hang in there folks....we have waited this long, what's another 3 weeks ? Now is NOT the time to make some "knee-jerk" reaction and rash decisions in response to alot of batshit being circulated around NAP right now ! Hang in the guys...in 3 weeks we will have our answer and hopefully some very welcome news for those of us who are looking for the buyouts ! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  10. Look for announcements on or around the Board of Directors meeting on 9 / 13 - 14 about what FOMOCO has to do now. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  11. FOMOCO Board of Directors is meeting 9 / 13 - 14. They are looking at EVERYTHING right now. We can all expect to hear something within a few days give or take then. There was just a really good segment on CNBC where they were talking about Ford and what can be expected. Just look at who is on the Board. Ronald E. Rubin....brilliant Wall St guy, investment banker, former Sec. of the Treasury, personal assist. to Clinton for the US economy, can't get much better than that ! I can bet he is telling Jr. and Markie to get off their collective asses and "git er done"... Hang in there folks....they know they have to be deadly serious now. We will definately see some big moves and good news on buyouts in about 3 weeks...maybe a little earlier if the press gets hold of it ! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  12. 6 Billion to get rid of 30,000 people @ 200K EACH, off their books...FORD is STILL GETTING OFF CHEAP ! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  13. The UAW can bloviate and posture all they want, in the end Ford will do what they have to do to survive and the UAW has nothing to say about it. The company is called FORD not the UAW. The buyouts will come, and very soon, for all who want one, that has already been decided. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  14. DONT WORRY...THEY WILL...IN THE END THE COMPANY IS CALLED FORD...NOT UAW. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  15. Have'nt we beat this dead horse long enough ? Others who have ALREADY received their buyouts have posted here that the union DOES NOT get anything. They were posting that months ago when NAP first heard the bad news back at Easter !!! How many times do they have to say it....UNION GETS NOTHING ! Stop worrying and just ignore all this batshit !!! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  16. GOOD POST. LOOK AT YOUR DUES THIS WAY. IT IS CHEAP INSURANCE TO GUARANTEE THAT WHEN THE BUYOUTS COME YOU ARE ENTITLED TO GET ONE ! AFTER PAYING YOUR DUES FOR YEARS NOW IS NOT THE TIME TO GET PISSED OFF AND OPT OUT JUST TO END UP F***ING YOURSELF OUT OF ANY BUYOUT OFFERED ! THE END IS VERY NEAR FOR MANY OF US. PATIENCE IS YOUR BEST OPTION NOW. JUST HANG ON GUYS....THEY HAVE NO CHOICE AND THEY KNOW IT ! BUYOUTS FOR EVERYBODY WHO WANTS ONE ! I AGREE, MAKE 'EM PAY !!! CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  17. AMEN BROTHER ! AT NAP...ALL THAT MATTERS NOW IS FACTUAL INFORMATION ON THE BUYOUTS ! HOW SOON ? HOW MUCH ? WHEN ARE THE SIGNUPS STARTING ? HOW LONG DO WE HAVE TO SIGN UP ? WHEN DO WE HAVE TO LEAVE AFTER ACCEPTING THEM ? THAT'S IT ! JUST THE FACTS ! NO MORE BS...THERE IS TOO MUCH DEPENDING ON THIS ! EVERYTHING ELSE IS IRRELEVANT !
  18. I believe that EVERY person who has already received their buyout checks and posted the details here on BON on other threads have to a man, said that the UAW did NOT get anything. If memory serves it came out to about $65,000 after taxes with NO UNION TAKE on a $100,000 buyout option. I could be wrong on that but that's what I remember reading on earlier posts here.
  19. LOOKS GOOD ! The original link at Bloomburg Financial is more detailed...I sure hope those 2 "insiders" know what they are talking about !! http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=206...&refer=home Amen brother !! C'MON FORD....CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: Texas here I come....yee hah!
  20. MAN I HOPE YOU GUYS ARE RIGHT ON ALL THIS...I WOULD ASK HERE IF SOMEONE WOULD POST ANY FORMAL ANNOUNCEMENT FROM NAP HERE JUST IN CASE SOME FOLKS ARE NOT THERE LIKE ME...I HAD SURGERY 2 WEEKS AGO AND IM OUT ON MEDICAL RIGHT NOW....THANKS ! BRING THOSE BUYOUTS AND CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet:
  21. I just hope and pray that he is ready and able to step up when the time comes as his final act as PM to fight for his workers, demand that FOMOCO treat us right at NAP and bring those buyouts swiftly without stringing this thing out and putting all of through an emotional meat grinder. If they want to shut us down early, then pony up, bring the buyouts and let us all move on with our lives without jerking us around. At this point with these huge cuts the other F Series plants should be more than able to pick up the slack closing NAP would cause. CUT THAT CHECK !!! :happy feet: :happy feet: :happy feet: I think they said he was at a hotel in Wash DC.....geee do you think it was a Motel 6 or something a little more "upscale" ?
  22. As long as it ACCURATE and AUTHENTIC that's all that matters. Thanks again and keep it coming. Of course the BIG QUESTION still remains unanswered... Specific information on buyouts details for NAP because it now appears that is all we left now. Please post here for all of us when you get anything concrete.
  23. DITTOS ON THAT "THANKYOU" ! Hopefully this will end at least some of the wild rumors, speculation, and angst being felt by all of us now. The BIG question remains Mr. Lee....any news on buyouts specifically for NAP ? Keeping us informed this way is a great additional method...please continue.
  24. Just announced on CNBC this morning. Ford cutting 4th quarter production by 21 %....WOW ! Everybody just hang on for the bumpy ride and good luck to all.... http://www.freep.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article...NEWS99/60818010
