  1. I would like to add my thanks to Ford employees. I currently drive an 07 Mustang GT and and a 97 Ranger. The Ranger has 160,000 miles on it and still going strong. New Fords I've purchased include: 73 Maverick 74 Mustang II 77 Courier 78 Zephyr Z7 81 Courier 85 Bronco II 88 Bronco II 88 Ranger 90 Bronco II 91 Ranger 92 Explorer Sport 97 Ranger (still own) 01 ZX2 06 Mustang GT 07 Mustang GT (still own) As you can see, I love Fords!
  2. After 3 trips to the dealer my factory alarm is finally fixed. First trip: they couldn't find anything wrong. Second trip: they replaced the SJB, the first time I opened the door after I got it home the alarm went off. Third trip: told them to keep the car until it was fixed. After two days they found a dead short in the drivers door.
  3. They can't get it to do it while they have it. They did call this afternoon saying they were going to call someone at Ford to see what to do next. Got my fingers crossed.
  4. Does anyone know how to disable the factory alarm? Mine goes off randomly, for example, today I had drivers door open and went to other side and opened passenger door, and it went off. A few minutes later I opened the hood and it went off again. If it sets overnight (unlocked) it is likely to go off. The dealer couldn't fix it so I just want to get rid of the stupid alarm!
  5. No, the car is not locked when this happens. I've not had any problems with the alarm going off when I've locked it, and then unlock it and get in.
  6. Yep - I have a 97 Ranger that has the 3.0. It is old school. But it has been an awesome truck. Hope they keep making the Ranger, just in case mine dies in the next 20 years or so.
  7. I have a 2007 Mustang GT with the factory alarm. Lately, it has been going off randomly. For example, while detailing it, open the passenger door-no problem, then go around and open the driver's door, the alarm went off. Another time it went of when I pulled the latch to open the hood. Another time it went off while I was getting out of the car. Doesn't seem to be a pattern, but is happening more frequently. Took it to the dealer, and they couldn't get it to do anything, but tonight it went off again when I opened the drivers door. Anyone have any ideas? Is it possible to disable the alarm? Thanks!
  8. I have a 97 ranger stepside with a 3.0. It has been a basic tough little truck. That's what I would want in a new one - make it smaller, make a stepside, keep it tough.
  9. Surface rust on certain parts (driveshaft, axles, etc) is normal and won't cause any problems.
  10. To me, the real point is, Ford increasingly doesn't get it when it comes to customer service. They have (or maybe had) someone who dramatically enhanced hundred's of people's views regarding their "Ford experience" because he went outside the box, and he gets stepped on for it. Maybe someone should pay attention to what the customers are saying in this thread. After all, it's their money that turns the machine! Ford needs more Kzintis if they want to reconnect to the public.
  11. The fact is, a there are a lot of us who have a higher opinion of our "Ford experience" because of Kzinti. He made buying a Mustang memorable. Even my salesman was exicted about the info I got. The result? More Ford's sold. At least he can see beyond the walls of the factory out into the world.
  12. My stang was built on a Tuesday, and other than a couple of minor things (loose door handle, roll pin in door hinge), so far so good.
  13. I agree with above, it's probably a warped rotor. This isn't normally a warranty item, but your dealer might cut you some slack. Worth a try!
  14. For me it is a matter of sticking with what I know. My 97 Ranger has 122k miles on it and is going strong.
