If indeed you voted no your memory of that day is incorrect.Scott recommended the agreement along with the whole bargaining committee...he wasn't happy but said it was the best they could do.There wasn't one person standing up there saying to turn it down,not sure if you were there how you could not remember that.Scott is either a dumb follower or as guilty as the rest...that I'm not sure of.He is arrogant so he fits in with those on that stage that day.I guess we'll know what and who was doing what when all the papers are investigated. The union could of avoided all this by answering 1 silly little question but they were too arrogant and greedy to do that....where did you all spend the 400 million Ford gave you for closure???People trusted the union too much on vote day...they didn't understand what we already had in the agreements from the 90's.Out of that 400 million extra Ford gave, a person in my situation got zero more cents then what was on the books since 92 I believe....there wasn't 10 bucks extra as a perk?Money was spent totally and the poor national didn't skim a couple cents for themselves?????I think we know the answer and it's a matter of time I believe that this will be proved.

All I can say is pay attention Oakville and Windsor...these jokers are the same as you have representing you.Rotten top to bottom and hopefully this will bring some light and what the union is up to these days 'fighting' for their members.

I doubt its for sale yet.They'll need it after we close.I also doubt it's worth very much so don't see what their rush would be.JMO

So supposedly you had till the 11th to signup for buyouts...anyone hear if and how many are taking it?Personally I'm not interested in transfer but I'm sure my fellow stapers would appreciate any info.

After the last couple years yep you should expect it.The CAW either lies or gives no info,that's their m.o. now.Christ we are 6 months from closing and have no idea what are pension buyouts are,transfer options...anything.I'm not sure what happened to our 8 hour session with financial people explaining our buyouts went to...nor do the union reps know.What a messed up group the union is...right from the local to the top...a bunch of arrogant ignorant no brains getting school by the company at every turn.

Not quite what you are looking for but some info fyi Windsor.We at Stap have to express our interest or not in transfers to Oakville,Bramalea or Edmonton by the end of January and then that number will be offered buyouts at those locations.Not sure what your senority is but maybe this affects you somehow.

A fraction goes to local programs and the vast majority goes to the national...you have to remember they are losing our dues when we close so they need to make that money up elsewhere...sweet deal for national,bad for line rats.Hopefully OAC and Windsor are watching because they are next inline...

Anyone know anything about the rumor where senior Stap employees are going to transfer to OAC soon?Seems out of left field but rumor was rampant before holidays...opinions?

Was an awesome meeting!Good job everyone!I think the national will hear very quickly the stir that was raised.There had to be between 3-400 unhappy people there making it very clear to Dennis and Scott this won't disappear quietly.I guess alot has to do with what the national wants to happen...do they want Scott to lose his position?Do they want the press of their own members involved in a lawsuit against them?Outstanding job by the members from the floor showing up..standing united and showing the union what solidarity in a group really means!

Sadly what I expect is more of the same.We aren't quite sure on anything yet and haven't been informed by national on exact details of anything yet.I think that's what Scott will say.The interesting part is what the membership does with that.I think it's going to be a very raucous event with threats being made..not physical but challenging Smith's position and whether he should be forced out...after that it's onto Lewenza but doubt he has the stones to be brought to task.I think with the lawsuit it puts the union and company in a position of one(not saying that is new)and how they deal with that threat will be interesting.Our contract can't over rule laws of Canada and I think it's pretty evident age is being discriminating against...what becomes of that I have no clue.

Everyone 18-27 years should be at the union meeting tomorrow night...time to get some answers from these assholes that sold us out....this should be very interesting.Time for the membership to be heard instead of the constant bullshit we get from the CAW.

Last day is scheduled for Aug 31 2011.Grand Marquis are still being produced,they were suppose to end in Sept but heard talk of Dec now.Town cars and Ploice Taxi are still running pretty strong right now.

I guess that changes things alittle.If true they are letting you come as temps but still allowing you to retain Windsor recall rights.Two wrongs don't make a right but who knows anymore.So for keeping your rights in Windsor you are giving up pay and benefits to get a year work.The contract tends to be an ever changing book anymore...can't say I'll miss this dog and pony show in a years time.Our union forefathers must be rolling in their graves.

I've heard this rumor but does anyone know if it's true?I highly doubt it.I asked about this and the union said it wasn't true.I don't see how they can get around paying senority employees their rate.I also doubt many Windsor guys come here though...why come for a year then lose your recall to your home plant?

Now the lazy shits in the union office should be getting all the buyout package info ready and get this show on the road.Bring on the temps I say!Those that can it's time to bail this sinking ship.

I agree allford...I think it'll be years before anymore workers are needed at Ford in Canada...though hard time mentioning Trim as he is part of that problem.Guys like Trim are very good for Ford as he is a 2nd tier worker already but he doesn't see the favour he is doing Ford by staying.It sucks for us older guys that were getting close to retire but things will work out down here for us.The younger worker in Stap might have alot tougher go on his hands as there is huge changes coming for them looking for any kind of decent paying job.

The CAW is a buisness to make money,no different from Ford.Look how they have sold out new workers at Cami.They'll take new hires dues but won't represent them.That is what we have at STAP now.What I don't understand is the people in the union office now...from top to bottom...it's beyond me how you can be part of the CAW at this stage in how we are being treated with no info.I guess the only reason would be to be off the line and get free OT but sure look like a bunch of losers to me to be associated with the national CAW to me.
