  1. Yea, the shifter is wierd but over all I think they did a nice job with the interior. There's one thing I wonder about though...when the seats are facing each other, where's everybody's feet supposed to go? It looks a little cozy to me. MR
  2. I like it better as a coupe, and agree that the front end is ugly. MR
  3. They really did a beautiful job with this car. I'd love to go crusin' in it. MR
  4. Refine the front end and give it some rake angle, then lose the oversize clown wheels and I'll buy one. MR
  5. I think we would have seen something like the '49 Ford about ten years earlier. Old Henry was about the only one who didn't want to get rid of the buggy suspention and the torque tube, from what I read. MR
  6. Offer a 'bare bones' muscle car...one that's light weight with roll-up or fixed windows, no power steering, no radio, no A/C, etc. MR
  7. Great story...and I can't agree with you more. When I used to travel a lot for work, I would always try to rent those T Birds and Cougars. The day came when we had to replace my wife's MK VII. I spotted a lightly used '96 silver XR7 Cougar at a Lincoln Mercury dealer's lot. We made the trade that day. My wife loves everything about the Cougar, and so do I. Just like you said, there's plenty of room & power, plus it handles well. My wife and I have wondered many times why Ford quit making this type of car. MR
  8. I like the old names better. I STILL can't get the Cadillac models right. MR

  10. My vote is for the power. The styling is...well...OK. It looks somewhat dated to me. Perhaps evolutionary rather than revolutionary, almost like I've kind of seen it before. In the case of the GTO, it was the power that appealed to people, not the styling. It didn't look anything like what potential buyers thought a GTO should look like. I would bet that if one of those Ford models were sold here as a Falcon and the high horsepower option was available it would be successful. The Ute is the model I'd like to see here most. If that small high-powered pickup was for sale at my local Ford dealer, I might have to replace my F150 with one. I've always liked the Ranchero concept. MR
  11. I didn't like the letter-names for Cadillac, and I don't like them for Lincoln either. Hey...is that a CTS, or a CXS...no wait, it might be a MKS, or could it be a MKS? There's no identity to those letters...at least in my mind. My wife drives a Mercury Cougar XR7. We never call it a Mercury, and I doubt that she even knows it's an XR7...it's 'the Cougar'. Now...if she drove a Cadillac XLR, we'd most likely call it 'the Caddy'. If that's what Lincoln is trying to do, it might work. MR
