  1. http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=589 This is from anothet forum. I'm not so sure how accurate the information is. *If* it is the real deal, looks like most of the renderings based on the Evos are pretty off
  2. According to Autoblog comments, the hottest selling cars in the USA will be Wagons and anything diesel...LOL
  3. http://www.motorauthority.com/news/1076703_2014-ford-s-max-spy-shots They claim this is evidence that S-Max is coming to the US...as if Ford never test vehicles outside their intended markets.
  4. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kqx0YzQEATI Doesn't sound like they were able to open it open. Can't wait for some stats and head-to-head.
  5. ...World is a lot different now. It isn't just USA any more, you're now dealing at items at an international scale. CEO's job have expanded massively while the average worker still does what that average worker does for a living. Pre-80s CEOs are still working in an largely isolated US-near region Euro environment. Now the world has drastically changed.
  6. There's a very simple test. Can anyone else do a better job? Is it worth the risk to switch up? It's strange how we are evaluating how much other people should get paid. Maybe we should all post our position and compensation and let everyone else judge our worth as well. LOL
  7. A lot of people don't understand why CEOs make so much money. It's very simple. You can outsource manual labor jobs to anywhere in the world. You can train most uneducated 3rd world country workers to do high quality work at a much lower cost. You cannot, and you never will be able to, replace your CEO with a budget CEO or a cheaper equivalent. Any one that thinks all CEOs are created equal just need to look at the failing companies like HP or MF Global, etc. Your CEO make or break you. Is it fair that failing CEOs get a golden parachute to leave? No. However, most companies have performance based compensation now. The market will adjust if you leave it alone. Your business won't survive if you keep paying bad CEOs big sums of money to fail. Taxes... Ummm... Show of hands, anyone here goes to your accountant or tax preparer and tell them that you or your business wants pay the largest sum possible? Anyone? Of course they're going to take every deduction...just like you take very deduction.
  8. My college buddy bought an old school complex in SD for $7K for his hippy colony... I'm more of a capitalist
  9. I pay $1600/mo. for a 1 bdr apartment rental here in NJ...
  10. Motor Trend article http://wot.motortrend.com/thats-a-hybrid-2012-ford-f-750-truck-fitted-with-plug-in-hybrid-drivetrain-177415.html ...only adds 1600 pounds to the chassis of the Ford truck...do not reduce the truck’s ground clearance. Recharging the 14-kWh battery pack takes 11 hours on a 110-volt outlet or 3 hours on a 220-volt sources; the 28-kWh battery recharges in 22 hours and 5 hours, respectively.
  11. http://www.reuters.com/article/2012/02/06/us-ford-pentagon-idUSTRE8152AR20120206 Ford pulled out of the bid. Ford, Raytheon, and Future Force decided they cannot meet the schedule of the JLTV program.
  12. The roots of NASCAR are bootleggers running from the law in their sup'ed up cars. When organization was put together and sponsors got involved, the cars became more "Stock," but you only have to make a handful of them to be called "stock." ...And just about all of them had hidden mods. As soon as personalities in NASCAR became household names, it wasn't the cars drawing in the fans. It was the drivers and the crashes. That's why it made sense for them to equalized the fields to create close races where cars crowd together and drive around in an oval. Heck, I don't know why I'm defending NASCAR when I can't stand watching it. I get why they did what they did. It is about personalities, rivals and conflicts.
  13. If that's true, I guess you don't call any motorcycle sports racing either? They're all personality and sponsorship dominated as well. The basis of sports is basically self-promotion and sponsorship... Well, maybe with the except of Tebow... Just kidding... no hate. :o)
  14. It is a marketing stunt for the launch of the 2012 Ranger in Malaysia. It is towing Isuzu D-MAX, Mitsubishi Triton, 2011 Ford Ranger and the Toyota Hilu...just randomly down some road. http://www.motoringcrunch.com/news/first-look/9747-2012-ford-ranger-malaysia-rivals Video is below...
  15. Don't really understand the hate... I'm not a NASCAR fan, and it is boring a heck for me. However NASCAR is not about the cars or car companies, it is about the drivers. It's always been about the drives since its roots from bootleggers. The cars were never "stock" but highly modified to out run the law. I mean, that is why the fans follow drivers and not the sponsors.
  16. It really depends on where you live in the US... I think Jersey mastered the art of driving fast, driving angry and driving like an a*hole. I'm no saint myself in my younger days, but cars regularly blow pass me while I'm already doing 85.
  17. I don't know...did you check out the Kabura concept? Not saying all his work is influenced by Aston of course.
  18. A lot of people are talking about the Aston design cues in the 2013 Fusion... Did anyone else pick up that Moray Callum is the younger brother of Ian Callum...Who is credited for creating the basic design of modern DB9 (Later completed by Henrik Fisker)? Thought that was interesting.
  19. Don't know if this has been posted yet... Not really all that info, but at least it is from Derrick Kuzak... http://rumors.automobilemag.com/detroit-2012-the-official-word-on-mustangs-four-cylinders-and-independent-rear-suspensions-100897.html
  20. Ummm.... Or not... http://www.autoblog.com/2012/01/05/why-the-2013-dodge-dart-wont-really-get-40-mpg-combined/
  21. Well, as a direct consequence of the 2014 deadline for healthcare reform, my company's insurance now requires screening. Your rates will be determined by how healthy you are. We have to submit blood test and other screenings. You are assigned points for every test you pass. You get a certain "Discount" if you managed to get certain amounts of points. You can refuse...but then you will be stuck with the highest rates. I have no problem with healthy people paying less than sickly obese smokers. The problem I have is the violation of my privacy outside of work. As a part of this program, to earn points, you have to join a gym (that is a part of their program), and they will track you going and leaving. Or, you have to buy a tracking device that will upload the information of your heart rate and pace to the monitoring database. It costs over $100 a year "membership fee" to be tracked that's out of your own pocket. Now if you area already a member of a gym (as I am) that is not a part of this program, well that's just too bad. If you already track your own workouts, but don't have a tracking device and don't want to pay to upload your data into a database, well too bad. No discount. The truth is that it isn't a discount. They jacked up the insurance rates sky high so you have to do their program. I find the tracking to be incredibly disturbing, but almost every company in the area is moving to the same system now. I guess that's the future.
  22. ...So this is still a free market with freedom of speech right?
  23. I thought the politically correct terminology is "Differently Abled...?"
  24. The only way Lincoln can even make an impact in the market is by blowing up the tired old image that's in most consumer's minds. You can't keep carrying the baggage of the past just for the sake of consistency. At this point, more non-enthusiasts would notice Hyundai changes their corporate designs than Lincoln.
