drive past KTP and you will see in the "non-ford" lot is full, and drive thru the "ford" lot and you still see non-ford cars....its a fucking joke anyways. i drive fords, but how should one be punished for driving a chevy to work? since when dont people have the right to spend thier hard earned money on what they wish? i understand the workin at ford driving a ford, and i do, but why do people not have a choice what they wanna drive??

i can understand that, but just for the ride from body to paint to trim and take the doors off im not sure what the advantage would be by using new bolts on every door 2 or 3 times

thats an amazing number, and i very much agree with you....but, at KTP we have times for clean up under the assembly line(FTPM) and have people just cleaning up and i do know for sure that we divide parts back up and put them in the correct places. i am 99% sure ALL the parts dont get picked up, or divided and put back where they belong, but i do know alot do. the thing i have to question is the doors on/off process. 1. the doors are assembled and installed in the body shop 2. anywhere from 12 to 16 hinge bolts are used on every truck 3. when the door comes to the doors off job in trim....the bolts are taken out and tossed aside 4. after the door is assembled and goes to doors on....NEW bolts are put in. 5. a tug driver comes by and pulls these bins to the trash room and they are dumped into a huge dumpster 6. why not have a small bin on the door carrier and place the bolts in it, so when it goes to doors on...they can be reused? 7. ive asked and was told the bolts lose thier tightening ability after being tightened. i understand that, so use 2 bolts per door just to hold the door on until it comes off. or the bolts that come off....instead of pulling them to the trash room, pull them back to the body shop and use them again, to get the truck to the doors off process??? i dunno, but just a thought.....

well, you get kudos from me....not many people can say they do what you do, and maybe if more americans did(including myself) we as americans wouldnt have troubles facing this crisis. im guilty....i shop at wal-mart, and lowes. im a single parent with custody of my child and NO help from the other parent and at this point, its about me saving money and providing for me and my child. yes, maybe i could grow my own veggies and hunt for my own meat but im not a green thumb nor a hunter and maybe i should be? i have cut alot of my spending....almost to just necessities, yes, i still have cell phone and cable but have cut elsewhere. this is not an excuse, but, if every single autoworker didnt shop at wal-mart....they are still gonna survive and make money

well, i dont know what plant you are at, but at KTP the uaw is worthless. the company violates the contract on a DAILY basis and if your lucky, you can get the committeman to file a grievance. that does NO good since the company hears the grievances, they just scrap them all. bottom line is, the uaw used to be a good thing which is how we got all the good pay and benefits we enjoy now, it not because of the current regime we have now

so you are admitting double dipping? so you are telling me the international union told you to go to work for a chinese company and still draw benefits from ford and the uaw? if thats the case, they are as wothless as i thought

hmmmm....lets start by cutting the ceo salary...not for a year, PERMANENTLY. secondly, how about getting rid of some management? there are bosses crawling around our plants like roaches. if someone can take a day off work, and not have thier jobs covered.....they got to go, its not beneficial to the company. third, maybe the jsp needs to go? i dont like it but cmon, who pays people for 2 years after getting laid off? no one except automakers. there are lots of ways.....useless to list because im a pee-on anyways, so it dont even matter so, whats your ideas mr. know-it-all????
