  1. I hope you fools are joking about V6-like power. WTF? Since when is anything less than 250hp good enough for a V6 around here? This joke of an engine puts out 1995 Duratec numbers, at exactly the same displacement. Hello?? When are dumb young people going to stop buying unreliable, slow, horribly warranteed cars just because they like the hip commercials????????????
  2. Have a little respect. I'm sure GM knows a little more about making cars than you do. The Corvette is an excellent automobile and they have made a mistake that I'm sure they are anxious to fix. Buy a Nissan or Honda and burn alive instead, I guess.
  3. You told us so? :blah: :blah: :blah: You must be Korean. That's the only reason I can think of for your posts. Noone else could be that excited over yet another ubiquitous Asian automakers good fortune. Just another example of the popular anti-American rhetoric. :cheerleader: :cheerleader: :cheerleader: GO HYUNDAI! GO ASIAN! GO, GO, GO! ANY PRODUCT FROM THAT PART OF THE WORLD IS DESTINED TO BECOME THE BEST!!! :cheerleader: :cheerleader:
  4. Very well put, Traveler. Why should others believe in us if we don't believe in ourselves? Until we stop hating ourselves for feeling any sort of national pride, things will not change. It's OK guys, really. It really is OK to feel pride in ourselves and our great nation. As a matter of fact, I will go so far as to say it is necessary.
  5. Why not offer more than one transmission choice? Doesn't the fact that the cars are selling in the 300,000+ range justify more variations???
  6. I have always wondered if the Taurus would've been allowed to evolve if it would've remained competitive at the retail level. It seems Ford never took an attitude of continual improvement with it. Once the '96 redesign failed, it seemed Ford was willing to just let it go with minimal updates. As evidenced by many on these boards, there were transmission issues as well as others that were not addressed, probably pissing off quite a few customers and sending them running to other showrooms. That said, i think the 99+ (I think?) redesign is quite handsome. I kept waiting for better engine/transmission choices, but that obviously wasn't in the cards. Having driven many, i thought it was a good car.
  7. bec, it doesn't make me less intelligent because I get disgusted with the fawning the press and Honda-philes exhibit. That's it, really. Disgust. Perhaps my disgust has sapped some brain cells?
  8. Honda zombies shiver with anticipation!
  9. Who is that Kia lover on these boards? He'll be upset.
  10. Otis and Lemon: Move to Asia. I'm sure they will enjoy you there.
  11. gkc, you've got a right to be upset. A lot of people are saying the same thing that you are. Ford is slow to catch on. But I believe that they are catching on. Hang on, though. The next 24 months should see some significant improvements.
  12. I do believe it would be GREAT for GM and DCX to go forward with ponycars. It's a market the rest of the world doesn't "get". It's uniquely American. The more the better. Besides, competition will be a reminder for Ford to keep the updates flowing.
